I'm a non-Christian(KJV) asking if anyone has ever read anything Jesus said that can be philosophically show as morally wrong.

Respectfully request answers stay on topic and not an attempt to discredit the person asking.

Moral error, I'm not sure I could demonstrate; he does get harsh from time to time, but you'd have to look carefully to see if those are likely authentic logia, or if they were put in his mouth by the redactors.

In Matthew 11:20-24, he suggests entire cities are doomed to destruction for not accepting his teaching.

Jim,

Why are you so angry?

Many of the questions you ask are not even questions you want to know the answer to they are an all out attack on Jesus Christ. Case and Point-"request answers stay on topic and not an attempt to discredit the person asking."

This statement says even if the answers are lies and can be disproved I still don't want to know the truth.

So my question to you at this point is why do you spend so much of your time asking questions about something you don't even want to know the truth about?

Is it that you already know the truth and you just don't want to believe it?

I don't know much about much but this one thing I do know Jesus loves you very much and He wants to give you a future and a hope.

I hope you find what you are looking for...

With Love In Christ,
Kathy

I'm going through the Gospel of Mark because it's widely accepted as the first written. I have a "red-letter" KJV, and I'll address problem I see as I come across it. I will also take the stance that misleading people is morally wrong, although I believe Jesus believed he was predicting the future.

A) Ascribing the afflictions of the sick to their own sins.(Mark 2:4-5). Illness is a part of the human condition

B) Calling sinners to repentance (throughout the gospel). This is an incredibly pessimistic view of humanity. It tends to blame everyone's misfortune and afflictions on God's displeasure with their behavior, rather than as a part of the human condition.

C) Focus on demonology and battles of supernatural beings. (Mark 3). These passages just make no sense and seem to imply that we are living in a world that we can never make sense of.

D) Discounting of family relationships. He theatrically says that those who follow him are his family, in place of his mother and brothers who came looking for him. (Mark 3:33-35). He encourages followers to leave their families for the sake of spreading the gospel (Mark 10-28-31)

E) Jesus intentionally misleads people: Speaking to his disciples he said: Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear and not understand..." (Mark 4:11-12)

F) Free use of damnation (Mark 6:11) as a way of convincing people to follow his orders.

G) Duality of human nature. The soul is said to be separate from the person (Mark 8:36).

H) Jesus doesn't respect his followers (Mark 9:19).

I) Instilling false hope: "All things are possible to him that believeth." (Mark 9:23; 12:23-26))

J) Orders that divorce is condemned. (Mark 10:2-12)

K) An apocalyptic vision that convinces people in each generation that theirs will be the last. (Mark 13). This has been going on for 2000 years, and each one still expects that the end of the world is about to occur.

That's my reading in about 20 minutes. There are 3 other (longer) gospels, but I'll let others look through there.

'nhbaritone' could not have answered this question better. He had a great answer.

It's been quite a while since I've read the Bible but I do remember this. 'The meek shall inheret the earth' and 'Turn the other cheek' yet it also says 'An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth'.

So you're asking for people to show that Jesus was not morally upright? I've checked out a lot of stuff, and i couldn't find anything.

Mark 8:12 - and Jesus said, 'I've got 99 problems, but a b*tch ain't 1'

"The meek shall inherit the Earth" is about as wishy washy as you can get. The meek can have the Earth, the rest of us strive for the stars.
