Females get spayed (removal of uterus)
Males get neutered (removal of testicles)
This prevents them from reproducing and having offspring.
As Bob Barker says..."help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered!"...now lets play some Plinko!

No your not dumb simply uninformed. Spayed means to de-sex your animal. To have your animal neutered is another expression some people like to use. I don't know why the word 'spay' or 'spayed' if used, never actually thought about it until now.

Spay means to sterilize a female dog by removing the reproductive organs. Neuter means to sterilize a male dog by castrating him.

When a female dog is spayed, her uterus and ovaries are removed, making her sterile and incapable of having puppies. She also will no longer go into heat. No question is dumb if you don't know the answer.

It means to remove both the uterus and the ovaries, the animal then can both not have babies, and not have the heat cycle which triggers breeding. In most cases the female who is spayed will not allow intercourse to occur, but even if she does, pregnancy is no longer possible.

it's making an animal not able to have babies.
boy animals get spay -ed
and girl animals gt nueter-ed (or the other way around...)
its a very good idea to do, we dont need any more dogs in the world untill all the homeless ones have happy homes!!
