If your eyes are light grey or any shade of blue, try black. It may be a striking contast. However, if your eyes are hazel, green, or brown, try lighter brown. Avoid blonde and red.

Black looks Goethe. Put in caramel colored highlights. Be gorgeous, not freakish. Black never washes out right so you will have trouble transitioning back to any other color. Alternately, do the coloring that puts red background into dark hair.

It seems like dark brown to black won't make a huge difference. One thing about black hair, it is fine on light skined people. My sister and I have jet black hair, and are almost lilly white.
Try going several shads lighter like something in the blonde catagory.

keep it the way it is, dark brown hair is the new blonde it seems like, just get some highlights, maybe caramel colours or something like that.

I don't think black is a good option, when you die your hair black is really hard to get it out... If you wannt people to notice, I think you should get some nice highlights... ;)

I think that light brown with blondish highlights will definitely get you noticed.
