It sounds like there's a woodpecker in the living room. Should I carpet the whole house? Or just stop letting mice run free through the house?

I would stop letting mice run free through the house. That, or you could just glue a little pad to the bottom of his peg leg.

try some cushions on the bottom or just take the wooden leg off... like some one said... cats don't need all four legs, they can do just fine with three. There have been some cats that only have 2 legs and they do just fine as well.

Take one of your single sox, you know the ones that the dryer doesnt eat, and cut it into two peices, put the foot part over the wooden leg then the other part over that ... tie with something the cat wont PLAY with and you have muffled wooden leg noise.

This is a joke right. I have never heard of a cat or dog having a wooden leg. My daughter works for a vet and they say what!. So I would say get yourself a pair of wooden ear plugs. lol

Melt one side of a marshmellow and stick it to the bottom.
If it doesn't make it quieter, you'll have a good time watching the cat try to eat it. And if you have other pets, they'll chase 'em.

Don't forget the popcorn and drinks.

You could carpet the house... or put something on the bottom of the wooden leg to silence it. :)

Put an eraser on his stump leg. That'll help with the sound and will give him a little friction so he won't slip down.

Is your cat a pirate cat? Why don't you get one of those high-tech prosthetic legs; I think they are made of plastic. Might be a little quieter.
