I am in the same situation at the moment. We have been dating for almost 3 months online and its like all the conversation flew out the window. Just spark up any conversation. Start with "How are you?" and go from there. I find it easier if you ask your boyfriend how his day is going and let that spark conversation. If that doesn't work, then tell him things like "I love you" and "What are you doing right now?" I use that second one a lot.
Just try and ask about his interests. If you have never been to his area, then ask him what it is like where he lives. Then tell him what it is like where you live. These are just basics. The conversation might fly after the first question, then again it might be a bit harder to get in the air. let me know how things go. ^_^

Unless you've met in person, the relationship is pretty much doomed in my opinion. You really can't have "true love" until you've looked each other in the eyes and had a door to each others' souls. Eyes can't lie. We can choose to edit what we see, but that raw signal can't be denied. If you can meet up with him and look him in the eye, face to face, and still say, "I love you," then you have to reassess where that relationship is going. If meeting in person is a problem for him (or you for that matter), then this relationship is doomed. It can't be a real relationship unless the physical element can take place. You could have what is essentially a "pen pal" relationship, but nothing binding unless or until you have some real time together (phone is a good substitute as well). That's just my humble opinion. Best of luck to you.

well there is the whole mel gibson debocal... there is the scorcher of a weather we are having... you could also talk about making plans when you see eachother again. Inquire on how work is or school.. what are yours or his plans regarding the future.... maybe one of you got a new haircut or something you can talk about... do you have pets? Do you want pets? The topics are limitless. Also try this, write down a list of things you want to say to him so your not stumped when you talk. Keep track of the interesting things that occur day to day and talk about those.. good luck.

Well, since you said you have been together for a year, you know him. YOu must have the same likes and there are things in those common likes that you can discuss. Music, movies. Distance is hard but "where there is a will, ther eis a way" Good Luck.

Don't try to figure it out. You always should say what comes naturally. If you can't think of anything, then that could be a sign you're overdoing the commuinications.
If you're a young person, you might need to weigh the importance of clingy relationships to that of your personal development - learning skills, selling things on eBay, or whatever.

my own opinion, online relationship dont really work out. You can never tell how they person really is, and you don't even know if what they are saying is the truth. Personally if you are bord now, you will be forever. find someone new!
