By law, the adoptive parent is the legal parent for life.
I am adopted and my adoptive parents were and always will be "my parents" as far as I'm concerned.
They raised me, loved me...and changed my diapers (lol).

An adoptive parent, like a biological parent, is still a parent after the child turns 18, the relationship just takes a different angle. The love for the child remains, regardless.

An adoption is the same as birthing them, no difference. You are there mother and father, not who made them. Anyone can make a child but only a true mother and father can raise one. This bond is FOR LIFE.
Thank You for adopting a child

People adopt with the intention of being the parent for life, not for x number of years. Foster parenting, however, usually is terminated at the age of 18 because of the number of children in the system. At that point, it is up to the foster parent what sort of relationship they will keep with the teen.

Yes. You are the child's parents for life. I knew one person who looked for their birth parents ,but after they met their parents they noticed how great their adopted parents have been.

Absolutely the adoptive parents are still your parents. They are the ones who raised you, changed your diapers, fed you bottles, bought you toys, took care of you when you were sick, punished you when you were bad, made sure you got up in the morning for school, gave you advice when you needed it, and all the things that parents do once the child is born.

If you raise a child and they only know you as their parent you will always be just that even if they try and find there birth parents. A soldier in the army was recently adopted last year and he was 22yrs old.
