Beer is an acquired taste. Start out with something lite like Michelob Ultra Light. You really won't like any beer until you are used to drinking it. When you first start to drink it, make sure it is ice cold and you will enjoy the taste more.

I recommend starting with a light beer, something like Coors Light. The after taste is basically nothing and the initial taste isn't too over powering. If you have a sweeter tooth of sorts, after you get used to the light beer move on to a dark beer like a honey brown or a red, they are more flavourful and have more of a lingering affect but good none the less. As basically a non beer-drinker who steals occasional sips from her boyfriend's bottle, I recommend staying away from anything that says Pilsner. They taste horrible and leave the taste of death in your mouth afterwards. If you are going out to a fancy beer garden perhaps in your local area, they tend to feature fruity versions of beer. Here in Toronto we have the "Bier Gardens" and they feature an apricot flavoured beer that is just heavenly. I hope this helps!

Seems like everyone is telling you to drink these commercialized beers that taste like dog piss. And drinking your beer ice cold may make it go down easier but you are just hiding the flavor. If you drink ice cold beer you never really enjoy the flavors of the beer. Of course if I was going to drink bud or MGD I would want it ice cold cause it really has no good flavors to offer.
If you really want to like beer try to find a micro brew/pub around and sample all their beers. Ask a bartender about each beer and what flavors you are tasting, you should then be able to find a style of beer that you may like. If you just want to try something commercial try a Yuengling, it is a decent lager that is easy to drink and it also taste a lot closer to good beers then some of the big breweries.

Ignore what everyone here is saying about Bud and Coors and all the other mass-produced beers. Instead, visit http://www.pubcrawler.com and see what microbrews and beer bars are in your area and what people think of them. Visit these places and sample a variety of beers. If you go to a brewpub, you can usually get tasting glasses of all their beers for six or eight dollars.

Try Budweiser Select. It is very light and has less carbs than the other light beers.

what ever you do, do not drink bud coors or mgd you will not truely enjoy beer. i suggest you look for a local micro brew in your town and have a craft brew. just ask them whats the brewers speciality is and enjoy.
