I will not quote scripture but there are plenty of words in the bible that express that the Body is the lords temple .. and to treat it as such. Our bodies were given to us by god doing something that destroys that gift is like throwing it away

this is why smoking, suicide, excessive drinking, Aneroxia, are sins because they are bad for your body (Gods gift to you)

G'day Princess,

I don't think it is a sin. However, it is a serious health risk.

It primarily affects young adolescent girls in the Western world and has one of the highest mortality rates of any psychiatric condition, with approximately 10% of people diagnosed with the condition eventually dying due to related factors. Anorexia nervosa is thought to be a complex condition, involving psychological, neurobiological, physiological and sociological components.

Anorexia puts a particular strain on the structure and function of the heart and cardiovascular system, with slow heart rate (bradycardia) and elongation of the QT interval seen early on. People with anorexia typically have a disturbed electrolyte imbalance, particularly low levels of phosphate which has been linked to heart failure, muscle weakness, immune dysfunction, and ultimately, death. Those who develop anorexia before adulthood may suffer stunted growth and subsequent low levels of essential hormones (including sex hormones) and chronically increased cortisol levels. Osteoporosis can also develop as a result of anorexia in 38-50% of cases, as poor nutrition lead to the retarded growth of essential bone structure and low bone mineral density.

Furthermore, changes in brain structure and function are noted as early signs of the condition. Enlargement of the ventricles of the brain is thought to be associated with starvation, and is partially reversed when normal weight is maintained. Anorexia is also linked to reduced blood flow in the temporal lobes, although as this finding does not correlate with current weight, it is possible that it is a risk trait, rather than an effect of starvation.

If you have it or think that you may be developing symptoms, get help.

I have enclosed some sources that may be useful.

Regards

Aneroxia is an illness

The gift of life is precious, and God wants us to look after our bodies, by keeping them nourished with a well balanced diet, and excercise.

I would advise anyone with this disorder to seek professional help!

Illiness is a produce of sin. Before Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, there was not sickness. Sickness is part of the price we pay for sin. Prayer and constant communication with the Lord will keep us heathier and or help us get through our illinesses through Jesus.

I think so, because in 1 Corinthians 6:19 says that our body is temple for the Holy Spirit, and by being anorexic you are definitely destroying your body as a temple of God.

You know, I don't really think it's a sin, but it's definitely a very bad idea. There is that passage in the Bible about your body being a temple, so perhaps anorexia applies in that case.

Anorexia is not a sin, it is a psychological disorder that is life threatening. If you have Anorexia and are not being treated for this by a psychiatrist, please make an appointment with one as soon as possible.

People can recover from this with professional help. God bless you.

If it cause damage to your body it would be. Your body is a temple to God and just as you should not use tatoos and other stuff, you should not harm the vessel that houses your soul.

But a mental diesase may be looked at differently, I( think. So, it may not be, in that case.

God commands us to take care of our bodies, and has made anything that damages your body or anything that disrupts your bodily functions a sin. Anorexia falls into that category...so yes it is a sin!!!!
