Wrap some duct tape, sticky side out, around the wooden leg. This is sure to stop those pesky termites!

Please tell Ahab (or is his name "Piratecat' from the movie?) not to worry. (Unless you are living in some parts of Africa or Australia where there are some nasty termite colonies.) It's unlikely termites will go for his leg... he moves around too much. Termites don't like to eat wood that's moving around. Just to be on the safe side, you should inspect his leg every day to make sure there is no damage to it. Don't use any poisons, because they could make your cat sick.

Listen to this amazing story:
"In the 1950s, Elmer Davis reported the case of a cat in Maine which had lost a foreleg leg in a trap. His owner fitted him with a wooden peg which the cat apparently tolerated. Not only did the cat walk on his wooden leg, when the cat caught a rat he beat it insensible with the wooden leg. "

You probably should have had the wooden leg varnished and treated to make sure it wouldn't rot or get termites before the cat had it put on. If you can take the leg off and treat the wood properly you shouldn't have a problem.

My dog used to have a wooden leg, but it rotted off from sleeping under the soggy porch.

Now he's back down to only 3 legs again. His name is "Tripod".

There's a product put out to keep termites out of trees that gets shoved into the ground. It's a pestiside stake. Try shoving one up your cats butt. It should ward any termites away from his wooden leg. Side affects should be constipation. Good luck. If it works...let me know. I might want to market those bad boys in "Cat Fancy Magazine".

I had wooden teeth. My best results were from a nice pesticide. Kitty should brace from the dreaded wood beetle, a sure attacker of the leg. I recommend Step 4-6 of the regiment. And 7 if REALLY necessary!.

Call out Terminex to treat his leg. Get a termite bond. Then, if he gets infested, Terminex will have to buy him a new leg. Or just get him a plastic leg.

Replace the wooden leg with a plastic or metal one.

Adopt an anteater.

Call Terminix.

Install a wheel on the end of it.

Not a problem as termites live and "work" in the dark. Just keep your cat above ground.

My suggestion...replace the wooden leg with a leg made out of diamonds. Just make sure he doesn't run away.
