*The answer is because Islam is a religion and culture of death and hatred:
The Qur'an, Surah V 51 says; O you who believe! do not take the Jew and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
In the Qur'an's Surah IX, v.30 it also says: And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!
Islam teaches Muslims to hate and destroy Jews and Christians. It is not a religion of love and tolerance for their brother human beings. They are to "Strike the infidel at the neck"

I don't believe that it is the Muslim people that many have a negative attitude towards. Rather, it is what the radical Muslim faith has created, namely terrorists. I don't see many poeople with a negative attitude towards Budists. However, I do see some negative attitude towards the Jewish community, mainly in reference to their acumulation of money.
I guess we focus on the worst part of a culture and then paint a whole people with that view. But if we could just strip the paint, it'd be a nicer world to live in.

I do. The media has nothing to do with it. I read their Koran and Hadith and spent 15 years in a Muslim country. I went there with an open mind and a desire to learn about Muslim culture, I came back with a VERY negative attitude towards Islam.

It depends on which state muslims come from.
Muslims in southeast asia are more peaceful and have less terrorist tendencies than the middle eastern muslims. These southeast asian muslims (who live in a predominantly christian state like the Phil) at least submit themselves to legitimate govenment forum with real issues like their self-determination and autonomy (like the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao in RP) instead of resorting to terrorism. Although there are small terrorist extremist groups too, they are generally condemned by the peace-loving muslims.
I can't say the same for the Arab Muslims in the Middle East. They like blowing stuff up whenever they disagree with something.

Media is a big part in this.. also the close-minds of people.. they are not willing to learn real info about Islam..they are content to listen to the ramblings of some people and reading the sites who are against Islam.. Where the truth is twisted into something so ridiculous ...and people actually believe it.. one day maybe

Media plays a big role, but it's mainly because the extremists make themselves known better than normal Muslim followers.

I cant believe you actually have to ask this question......could it possibly be that they have terroristic activity against the whole world.....that they say they are a peaceful religion but don't condemn those in their own religion who practice terrorist behavior.....I could go on but we have all heard it before....no the media doesn't have a thing to do with it..it is their actions that speak louder than words
