No its not polite here in the West & in the 21'st century to call one's own mother "woman."
However, Jesus Lived in the east & more importantly He Lived 2,000 years ago: Different time & different culture.
In Our Lord's Day, calling one's own mother or any other female "woman," was courteous.

In today's western society, to address someone as 'woman' is seen as more of a condescending term, and often associated with a command. It would not be accepted today.

No, it is not polite. Jesus was a Jew who lived in the 1st century. Social customs were slightly different.

No, it is not, unless you are very close with your mom and are teasing her in a playful, loving way, as in, "Hey woman! Get outta my way... I'm gonna wash the dishes - you sit down!"
Now, usually in America if someone calls their mom "woman", it would be the daughter.

I wouldn't, it just doesn't sound very respectful, I doubt my mum would be to pleased if i called her "woman".
