Keep it cool, for genetics is fasr from Bipolar disorders. Your not born with Bipolar...it's created when you got abused.

The only way perhaps to find out about if the rest is genetic is by having him tested for some blood work or he may be lacking some kind of vitamin deficiency which they give him injections for.

I lack B 12 and have found that the injections are a help as well as being on other medications for anxiety and depression.

It isn't really known.
There is lots of controversy about ADHD.
It is very well possible that it is genetic but there are other factors that probably played a part in this man's behavior. He might of had a food allergy or simply behaved badly due to an alcoholic parent.
Judge your child by his actions. Give him love, support, and be firm with rules and he will turn out just fine.

There does appear to be a genetic component to certain types of mental disorders. ADHD, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and alcoholism are in this category. There are percentage factors and often people with ADHD, OCD or certain mood disorders like Bipolar Disorder seem to subcomb to problems with substance abuse (alcoholism included).

You could answer that question yourself, is your child showing signs of any of these things and if so work on them and if not so far then train and raise your child with copping skills, just in case. Because i think the studies are still out on this subject

There has been no scientific proof that it is genetic but doctors are seeing a pattern.

I have observed this pattern in 3 generations... it is genetic! Is often evident, when incest is involved.
