Love is a connection on an intellectual and emotional level and is quite different from obsession. Love develops from sharing and trusting and talking and understanding. From listening and feeling and letting the wall crumble and supporting the other and allowing the freedom to breath and express emotion and share happiness and pain.
Obsession doesn't develop. Obsession is nothing more than the desire to control. Stalkers are obsessed.

You know when theyre totally cool with you and take things at a normal speed and when they give you space that is love.
obsession is when they are all over you and give you no space and take things really fast and when you try break up with them they go crazy.

Love is caring enough about someone else that you value their happiness over your own.
Obsession is being fixated on someone and wondering what life would be like if you were in a relationship with them, and usually involves fantasy and not realtiy as much.
