Christian Homosexuals, How Is That Possible?

According to the Holy Bible, in Genesis, The Lord destroyed the two cities Sodom and Gomorrah. He destroyed them because of the homosexuality, which The Bible explicitly says is a sin. Now when Lot and his family left, The Lord told them never to look back. Lot's wife did, and turned into a pillar of salt. So, if according to The Bible, homosexuality is wrong, how can homosexuals call themselves Christians? I've given you where The Lord says it's a sin, so if your going to rebuke me, show me one spot in The Bible where it says homosexuality is ok in the eyes of The Lord.

So, instead of giving me an intelligent answer to my question, you are going to accuse me of judging? I never said anything at all about judging...All I want to know is how they justify their immorality through the BIBLE...read the question! And also, you obviously cannot prove it to me, so you ask another question instead...hmmm...

Like someone else said, in this post, and I thank you for posting it, in Leviticus, it says "men sleeping with men is disgusting in the eyes of the Lord" Also, IdahoMike, In John 3:16, you need to read the entire verse, and probably the whole chapter, because The Lord, our God says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life" which means, "whosoever" then means the REPENTED sinners who believe in Christ Almighty

I do not believe that homosexuals are born that way. I do not believe that they can be Christan I believe that there are prerequisites as someone put it to be one. Such as admitting your a sinner in the Bible it says confess with your mouth believe with you heart. Homosexuality is a sin. I believe God created everyone and everything including the children that are with the mother's womb. Therefore I do not believe he would create a homosexual being. I believe it is a choice. Think about it:
We judge eachother every day, but do not ever stop and think nor look in the mirror and ask ourselves are we not sinners? Have we committed a sin today? We wonder why the world is going to hell? Could it be because Americans and everyone around us forgot who our creator is and whom we should be praising, and thanking day after day? Could it because we took prayer out of everything and God out of the pledge (or attempted to) that people gave up and forgot how to pray or maybe that was the only time they did pray. Or could it just be that we are allowing the devil to take over because it seems so much easier? Whatever the reason being it's sad to see a world go to hell all because we can't live by the Bible and what it stands for.

And by the way, the bible also says that judging another is wrong but yet here you are doing that. That is considered playing God and is more sinful than being gay in the eyes of the Lord.

Different Christian Homosexuals will explain how they can be gay and a Christan in various ways. One is that everyone sins, so it really isn't any worse for them to be gay than for a straight person to commit some other sort of sin..Jesus loves and forgives all who accept him. Another explanation is that the old laws have been thrown out so they don't apply.

A more educated explanation come from gaychurch.org (see source) where they have taken a look at Hebrew texts and determined that it shouldn't be directly translated to homosexual but something more like sexual deviant. They also note that Jesus never spoke for or against homosexuality, so it must not be that important on the sin scale.

One theory, according to God: A Biography, is that those cities were destroyed because the men were demanding sexual access to Lot's visitors (i.e. God). This offended God, because he had made a fertility covenant with Abraham and demanded access to his genitals (via circumcision), so humans could not demand the same of him.

Of course, you probably won't want to hear that. So I'll just say look at all the thousands of places where the bible COULD mention homosexuality and DOESN'T. It talks much more about not being a jerk and pointing out other people's faults (if you think homosexuality is a fault, which you obviously do), when you have your own glaring imperfections.

First of all, Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexuality. They were destroyed because the inhabitants were self-absorbed and greedy. Second, nowhere in the bible does it 'explicitly' say that homosexuality is a sin. Third, if homosexuality were a sin, and since only people are capable of sinning, why is homosexuality fairly common among animals? Fourth, why are christians so concerned with this issue? If homosexuality were as serious a sin as you consider it then why isn't there a commandment that states 'thou shalt not be a homosexual'?

God didn't destroy these cities just due to homosexuality; it was due to their gross immorality. Unfortunately, most leave out all the other stuff and just focus on the homosexuality, particularly when it suits their agenda.

Last I heard the wages of sin is death. Do you sin? Have you ever sinned? Becareful how you judge people. To God a sin is a sin there is no grey area. A murderer and a liar are in the same boat. God does not destinguish between sins.

We are all flawed and even if we accept christ and are christian we are still sinners. We reject the sin and love the sinner. Is homosexual behavior a sin? I'm not sure the lesson of sodom and gommarrah were destroyed exclusively because of homosexual behavior. God was angry at these cities for alot of reasons, mainly the population rejecting him as god. Are we all born perfect? Let's look at the physical condition and birth defects. In sex there are people who are physically both male and female, and a doctor chooses their sex for them. Later in life these people have to decide what they feel they are for themselves. Why isn't it possible that there can be a mental condition that is flawed, or not normal ? Maybe it's real the a homosexual person cannot control his attraction for a man because in his mind he is female, or visa versa. Should this person deny himself in love because of this? God created the people who are flawed and he loves them as well. I'm not homosexual, in fact the idea of doing sexual things with another man absolutely is repulsive to me. But I don't want to judge another person about this. I'm against homosexuals trying to recruit us to his thinking or trying to have sex with someone who isn't gay. If you're gay and want to have sex with someone, find someone else gay. I've seen too many stories about religious gays leaders abusing boys who trusted them, using religion to do it.
