Pick your most favorite thing to do and start it. Don't stop until you complete it, then move onto the next one. Make whatever it is fun and game like

Just start one of them, and exclude all others. Pick the one most important to do, and start it. One step at a time. Concentrate until that one is done. Then you can start the next one. Just because you can't start something , it doesn't mean you're lazy or lack motivation. You may be a little depressed, and that makes it difficult. But if you just go step by step, it should be fine.
Being on the computer is fine too- it's a GOOD thing you were on it, and those who were Drill Sgts. above saying 'get off the computer" are wrong. You've taken a first step to get motivated:Asking this question here. So you do have motivation and you can get going. You've already started. Just keep it moving along at a steady pace.

Do something that motivates you. All too often, laziness stems from boredom or a complete disinterest in your daily tasks. If you don't feel that your work is rewarding, consider changing careers. Likewise, if your child isn't inherently motivated to do schoolwork, set up a reward system that gives him or her something to work toward. Also, if a particular task seems overwhelming to you or your child (and therefore causes you to not do it), take small steps to make the task more manageable.

Exercise. The more time that passes without taking action, the easier it is to fall into the laziness trap. Exercise is an excellent way to boost your energy levels and put you in a better mood -- so you're ready to face a new day head-on.

Rule out illness. If you lack the desire to do anything, you may be suffering from an illness such as depression or the newly defined motivational deficiency disorder. When laziness becomes chronic or overwhelming, you should talk to your health care provider.

Make a change in your life. Sometimes, just the routine of daily life can lead to laziness. If you feel your daily routine is turning into monotony, sign up for a class at your local community college, volunteer at your town's animal shelter or call up a friend to play tennis.

Surround yourself with supportive people. When laziness begins to set in, one of the worst things you can do is surround yourself with other lazy people. Instead, actively seek out people -- in both professional and personal settings -- who will support your ideas, encourage your success and embrace you as a person.

I used to have the same problem. I still fall into a slump and don't want to get started but I've found two things I'm passionate about. Well, I always knew I was passionate about these things but I kept saying "Perhaps I'll do it later...". What got me off my butt and into action was the need of another. Just to clarify, my passions are writing and animals. When a cat showed up on my door step, dehydrated and several injured from a confrontation with a dog, I took it in and did my best to nurse him back to health, when that wasn't working I rushed him to the vet. Okay...this may not be your motivation, but my point is I felt like I had a purpose. The feeling I got from helping was what motivates me now. Even though there was too much wrong with that cat and he ended up dying, for a little while he needed me. Now, I'm an active animal person. I've become very adept at rescuing strays and helping others become aware of the plight the animals have because of overpopulation. Find your passions, focus on them. If you feel like you have too much on your plate, narrow it down to the things you enjoy the most and work on them until your obligations are less full and you've gained a sense of satisfaction and pride in yourself. Good luck!

You may not be lazy. Lack of motivation, being overwhelmed and having problems completing projects could be due to something else entirely.

First have your physician give you a physical. Then ask him about the possibility of depression after telling him about your problem. Then exercise every day. Exercise is a natural antidepressant. You don't have to run a marathon. Take a walk and keep active.

If your doctor says you are all right and even IF you are depressed, there are several things that you can do. Start with telling yourself that you are just going to do one thing. Don't look at the big picture, just get one job done. After you get used to doing one job every day, increase your output to two jobs a day and continue to increase as you are able. Notice that I said as you are able. The main idea is to not be overwhelmed. Try one small job, complete the job and feel successful. It may be small for someone else but for you it is a victory. Once you begin to feel successful, it will help.

You have to break up your projects into smaller parts. Do 1 at a time. It is motivating to finish a part, it's a goal. Choose your projects by order of importance and by time. Do the important ones first and during any down time crank out an easy project. Before you know it you're done and its time to go home. If you do not feel rewarded for your efforts than it makes for lack of motivation. Reward yourself or change jobs. Whatever is more realistic.

I think the best thing you can do is make a commitment to someone else. It's easier to break a promise you make to yourself. You can start a workout routine with a friend, so that it becomes more of an obligation than just something you want. You also have to find a time that suits you best, and if you're tired all day, you've either got to change your diet or get some more rest.

The object of what you are trying to accomplish is thinking and doing. In order to do this you must think things through to the end, make sure you have a goal, make steps to accomplish this goal and then spend how ever long it takes reaching this goal. As long as you reach your goal you have succeeded. One project at a time until you learn how to multi task goals, this takes discipline and motivation. Once you have set and completed some goals you will feel better about taking on more at one time, you will find the best route for you to get them accomplished in a time and manner that is comfortable to you. Another good thing to practice is scheduling make a schedule for everything you are going to do for the day.....Think about this how long each task you have to do will take. Write this down and follow it. This will be hard at first but it comes fast. If you have a regular routine for your day it will be easy to add in extra things to do and get done...soon enough you will find that you now have time to take some things out of the routine...this is not a good idea, you will slowly slip into the hole you are in now. when you are to this point find things go looking for things to keep you busy. You can do this I have faith just start off on one thing at a time and slowly work your way up :)

try eating more healthier. Fruits and veggies give you lots of energy. Only sleep up to 8 hours a night. If you sleep more than that and are tired, it's probably because you are getting too much sleep. You may feel exausted the first few times but try to exersice more too, after those first few days of being really tired afterward, you'll see ur body gaining more energy from it all. Good Luck!

Find your personal point of more creative thinking and energy during the day.Get a taste for the benefits of accomplishing something....there's nothing like earning something or accomplishing a goal, the feeling is undescribable.

Sometimes people need medication for their low motivation....clinical depression could be the reason for low interest in projects and energy.I take meds and they allow me to get back on track with day to day things.

Meth.

Kidding - organization is the key. If you take everything that needs to be done organize into what order it needs to be done then...this is the most important part - Write down everything that needs to be done - why is this so important? Because you'll get a small endorphine rush everytime you cross something off. In other words you'll feel good and the better you feel the more apt you are to do more because you want to cross off that next thing.
