I can't understand why any women would want to marry a Muslim man. In the western world, we call it spousal abuse, lack of respect, discimination, sexual discrimination, concubine, bare foot and pregnant, baby factory, need I go on?

There is a BIG difference in the cultures. Regardless of the bologna the muslim man tells you, if you make the mistake of going back to his home country, you will never return. Any women who marries a muslim, deserves all the above.

For more about what the Islamic faith will get you, check out the web site below from a man who was a PLO terrorist, grew up as a Muslim, and is now a Christian.

I fell in love with the most wonderful man we have been married for a year He is Muslim.

So yes!!!!!!

When we met I was Christian.

I have since converted.

Sorry but scubadiver50704 is misinformed

women are equal and have the same rights as men in Islam. It is in culture things get mixed up.

My husband has never placed a hand on me.

Instead I have full respect.

I have full rights for education employment and as a any Muslim knows I keep my money and he still gives me more.

And in no wise covet those things in which Allah has bestowed His gifts more freely on some of you on others. To men is allotted what they earn and to women what they earn (4:32)

I have two BA's in Psychology and History and working on a PhD in History. Every is equal.

Women are compensated for work because how much we do in the house.

Of course if he was a practising Muslim man. Muslim= good people. I wouldnt marry any other type of person..

Scuba doesnt know what hes talking about. There is no "culture" in Islam. Islam is a way of life and your culture is separate to that. Muslims come from many different backgrounds, colours, ages, classes etc. What "home country" are you talking about? The US? or the UK? as Muslims are from all over the world..and you're stupidly generalising about all of them..

No since I am already married. But even if I wasn't married I couldn't marry a Muslim since the most basic and essential attribute of a Muslim marriage is the common faith of the couple.

My being Roman Catholic could cause some dandy arguments. LOL

I would advice any woman considering such a dangerous move to read Surah 4:34 of the Koran.

Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and forsake them in beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.

And this : http://answering-islam.org.uk/Women/index.html

I am not asking anyone to believe in this blindly, so buy the Muslim Holy books (Koran and Hadith collections) and read them for yourself.

No I wouldn't. I'm a Christian and I know we'd have conflicting beliefs about religion and other things such as family values and roles.

No, for two reasons: I am already married, and I am Christian, so I wouldn't marry someone who wasn't also a Christian.
