I generally put an ice cube in my coffee. On the off chance that I forget, the first thing that comes to my mind is, "Oh f*ck...now my tongue is numb and I won't be able to taste my coffee. Every time I take a sip, regardless of how hot or cool the coffee is, it's going to burn!"

Gotta leave the spoon in next time (cools it down quicker.) You always should stick the spoon in there and put the spoon in your mouth, if the spoon is too hot (it won't burn you) then stir the coffee around a little or leave the spoon in (it will transfer heat out of the cup faster.) You can also put a spoon in the freezer for a second then stir it up.
