DAAAAAAAAAAAAAM, after we won it in war and paid them 15 million in 1848 and forgave the debt of 3 million that the Mexican government owed the American people, now they feel they have a right to the land, they barley occupied it to began with, most of the population resided in Mexico. They also took it from the Indians so they don't own anything, and never did

No they no longer belong to Mexico....But what is in question, is how they were attained by our govt. Many think the land was stolen and this is why....
The states of Texas, New Mexico, Utah, California, Nevada, Arizona part of Wyoming and part of Colorado, originally belonged to Mexico....During the Mexican revolution, there were some rebels in Texas that wanted to be an independent country also known as The Annexation of Texas....
However, Texas could not gain independence with out the assistance of US....So they joined forces and Texas became independent from Mexico. Despite the fact that Mexican leader Antonio López DE Santa Anna warned that annexation would be "equivalent to a declaration of war against the Mexican Republic." At the time President Tyler signed the treaty of annexation with Texas in April 1844. The Republic of Texas President, Sam Houston, and the Texas congress consented to the annexation. To this day the Mexican govt. does not recognize the treaties that were signed by Santa Ana and Tyler to give Texas to USA. That created a domino affect with the othre territories.
And for the moron who said Mexicans stole the land from the Aztecs, Mexicans didn't even exist....It was European Spanish, NOT Mexicans. Mexicans were a result of the Spanish mixing with the Aztecs....

Here in Houston there are many "territories" that appear to belong to them because they have taken it over like a bad spreading mold. They move into cheap rundown apartment complexes with there 23 children and all the rest of the family and then spread like wildfire into a congested area IE; (for those of you who know H-town) Chimney Rock Rd. to Hillcroft west of Hwy 59, or how about Denver Harbor, Galena Park, South Houston, ect ect ect......they may as well make the street signs in those places in mexican, And yes I say mexican because the actual spanish language varies from what people from mexico speak.

It seems to me that it's a myth that the original ethnic Mexican were in the area of Texas, California or Arizona as a civilization. Those Aztecs lived in Mexico proper, did they not? And the Apache and a few other American Indians occupied that area. When the Spanish came, they took over Mexico, Cal, etc. Who would want to live in the hot, dry deserts of California and Arizona before it became prosperous by the Americans?

"However, Texas could not gain independence with out the assistance of US....So they joined forces and Texas became independent from Mexico."
That's not exactly true, as a matter of fact, here's some trivia; The Texas flag is the only flag that can fly at the same level as the US flag, because it is the only state that fought for its own independence. Texas won the war in 1836, and did not join the US until 1845.

I don't believe that any territory in the US actually *belongs* to Mexicans but they feel a certain right, I guess, because at one time it was theirs.
