Atheism is the largest monolithic group.
Christians & Muslims are divided into competing sects and are not unified.

Strictly speaking (if you go by the criteria which many Christians use to suggest that Christianity is the largest religion) it would be Buddhism.

The fact is that it's almost impossible to calculate this without asking every single person what they think their religion is. Catholics calculate it by assuming that everyone in Latin America is Catholic. Protestants tend to assume that Britain, the USA and Holland are entirely protestant (nothing could be further from the truth). Muslims claim that Islam is the largest religion based on very little actual demographic fact.
But in terms of actual practising followers, it is probably Buddhism.

Don't they all, including the Atheist. Oh wait, no not all of them boast they have the most followers, some boast they are the fastest growing religion. Personally I am less concerned with what the masses think and more concerned of what I feel is the right religion for me.

Numbers-wise its Christianity. But the highest number of people actually practising a religion is Islam (which is second highest on numbers alone). Also, Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world
