Only you and your significant other know when it okay. I was engaged to my husband within 3 months of meeting, but we waited for almost another year before we actually wed. It was more for my parents' than it was for us, as they wanted a proper ceremony, but we would have gone to a Justice of the Peace the day after our engagement if it weren't for that. It is up to you and no one else. You'll know when you're ready and if you are having a slight doubt, hold out a bit longer. I mean, jitters are common, but when you are having a real doubt, something just needs to slide into place first.

Good luck.

Too soon, is now. For some people, too soon is after one year. I think a good time is, 2 to 4 years in the future.

In 1948 the right age considered for marriage was 21. A recent study shows that the proper age today is 24.

Sorry, I can't answer this question for you because I've been with my fiance for 14 awesome years. I don't want to rush into marriage....lol. I almost did once with my ex. I wouldn't rush, even a year is to soon. Your still learning things about eachother. Get to know him inside and out "completely" before you say I do, because the more you get to know about him you might realize that he's not the one for you.......(my personal experience.)

How soon is too soon to get married? Simple...when you're just not ready and sure about you getting married but you go ahead and get married anyways...that's when things go wrong and you end up in court filing divorce.

Well I would definitely wait until you're 21 so you can join in the toast at your wedding! :) I'm getting married in a few months and I'm 23...my fiance is 25. Good luck :)

haha, you're over 21...sorry! :) Well maybe some people don't find Mr. or Ms. Right until a little later in life..and that's ok :) Good luck!!

when you don't know the person well enough or long enough to know what to expect from them...NEVER get married in a rush, it could be a big and painful mistake...when you think you are in love or you believe you are in love and it takes a few weeks, that is too soon...give it at least one year or more if you can...i would pray about the person i want to marry (that's me, though)

If you're under 25 it's too soon. Also, if you've only been dating a short while, it's a good idea to take it slow and REALLY get to know one another before taking the big plunge. But if you know in your heart you've met the ONE, then go for it!

I can tell you from experience that 6 weeks is not long enough! Give yourself time to REALLY get to know each other. It'll be worth the wait and save lots of pain in the process.

It varies what the legal age of consent is in different states or depending on whether the girl is pregnant and\or has her parent's consent.

So much for the legalities...

I think it also depends on your maturity. If you can't support yourself, you're too young to get married.
