My little sister met some kid at a church teen activity and has been talking to him all the time lately. She told me that she wants to see a baseball game with him because his parole officer gave him free tickets. She doesn't know why he's on parole and doesn't want to ask him. What are the usual reasons for someone his age?

It could be anything really, so tell your sister to be careful. It could be anything from drugs, assault, a sex offense, gang activity, theft, shoplifting.

I don't think a parole officer is going to be giving out free baseball tickets. In, fact I'm sure that would not happen SOMEBODY is lying.

I bet its not a parole officer but rather a probation officer. It could be as simple a truancy, minor drug possession charge, theft... She should ask him, straight up front... he is the one that brought up the subject, asking what he did is only normal.

He expected that she would ask! Anyway.

Your sister may thinks its cool, but unless this individual has some kind of plan with his life, tell her to dump him. I seen some of my nieces date individuals that where in and out of jail in there child hood. There life was pretty much ruin by these cool guys. But all well, they don't want to listen, so I use them as an example for my children and I tell them don't do the same.

You have to go to prison to get on parole. I would quess they really mean probation. And if she's thinking about dating him, shouldn't she get to know him first, and find out a little about him. Like why he's on probation.
