Not all breads are high in calories. If you like breads, try a light one. Maybe you are thinking about carbs?

How about some yogurt and some fruit or vegetables. Try some chicken , no skin, and a salad. Maybe have a half piece of bread here and there.Exercise is good to if you want to watch your calories. Good luck.
Wendys has alot of low calorie stuff as well. Most fast food restaurants do.

Bread itself isn't really too high in calories. It's high in carbs because that's really all bread is, carbs. That's usually why bread gets a bad name.
If you were to eat bread, go with whole wheat bread. You can find all types (whole wheat bagels, pita bread, etc) and again, calorie-wise it's really not so high. As long as your total calorie intake in what it should be for the day, there is nothing wrong with whole wheat bread for lunch.

I try to aim for proteins instead of starches. I'll eat some cottage cheese and fruit. Or have a piece of chicken and a tiny amount of rice. Bread just fills me up and I don't get any protein boost from it. (I had gastric bypass surgery and as of last week I've lost 200 lbs. I can eat so little that I have to make sure I get enough protein in me.) Salad isn't always the answer..unless there is some kind of protein in it.. chicken, tuna.. cheese... and don't fill the salad up with croutons LOL. Also.. you may want to stop drinking soda.. bubbly drinks stretch out your tummy and make your tummy bigger which makes you feel hungrier. Water is best.. or Crystal lite.. but my favorite is Propel. Good luck! And remember PROTEIN first.

Bread really is not that high in calories! I choose Nature's Own Double Fiber bread and each slice only has 40 calories. Try something like that.........
Lunch alternatives could be
A veggie burger with no bun topped with salsa and a pineapple slice, serve with fruit of course!
Spinach with mandarin oranges, almonds, low fat vinigrette, and grilled chicken
Tuna salad (light in water) with egg whites, chopped veggies, grapes, beans etc. with wheat crackers. Add yogurt!
Be creative!! Remember whole wheat bread is not always high in calories, read your food labels!

Try some sandwiches in wheat wraps. Or use wheat bread or other whole grain breads. They're healthier than white bread or rolls.
Eat salads or fruit or eat a couple whole grain snack bars.

Wraps: a whole wheat tortilla or pita bread with some spinach leaves, lean meat, vegetables, and low-fat salad dressing.

Ok hobber, the bread is probably higher in carbs. Salad is fine and also very safe but there are far more exciting meals out there for your to try. You don't have to stick to salad.

Fruit salads are awesome. Fruits are a good choice because they have lots of water which will fill you up but are low on calories.
