Hello, I was wondering about Female and Male Dogs, I have a 9 month old Female, Spayed, Shih-tzu. She is alittle bit shy until she gets to know people and other dogs.

I'm currently looking into getting another dog (a buddy) for the one I have now, and I was wondering if anybody knows if it matters if I get a Female or a Male as the second dog?

I heard from somewhere that the Male dogs can still try and be horny (lol) even if they are both fixed.

If anybody can help that would be great. thanks.

it is better for you to get a male to go with your female. If you fix the male as early as your vet will allow then there should be no problems. If you were to get another female they might fight because they are competing for everything....male and females compete for different things.
