II have long kinky hair and it never gets straight except when my stylest does it but I can't go there everyday and pay her to do it. I hate having to straight it everytime I get out of the shower because it takes up to an hour sometimes So how can I get straight fast and easy without paying hundreds?!?!?!

ok. i have this same exact problem, it only looks good when someone else flat irons it also. i know how you feel. it takes way too long to straighten it by yourslef, and it doesnt look as good, cuz u cant even get all the spots in the back of your head. and so i tried a relaxer. bad idea. dont do it. expensive, and only last about 3 days, then it looks fried, and gross. then i tried thining it out, and then i just got a lot of frizzies on the top of my head. so.. after hearing everything i did... just shower, put a little gel in it, and appreciate curly hair! be differnet! i finally ralized.. why try to fight it? and be somthin you arent? or if u want, try hot rollers, thats what i do alot. it defrizzes it, but makes it curly, thats all i do to my hair anymore... seriously try it.. or try frizz ease by redken! people will be jealous of yor hair! i never used to wear my hair down, and curly so one time i did, and i had the most compliments in my life about my hair.. so you know what? just say.. who cares! i like curly hair! and enjoy! (i hope it heps) .. i feel ur frustration! GOOD LUCK! if you think of an idea, to do ur hair, let me know at alexis_wilson12@hotmail.com thanks

coming from a curly hair hater (mine is curly as well) I have learned to style it curly, just for those days when I dont want to deal with straightening and product and worrying about the humidity or water or going to the beach or any kind of water which will destroy in seconds what took hours to perfect. So, my answer is to go straight for important things, dont do it everyday, its way too much hassle, headache and time, not to mention how bad it is for your hair itself. Try the relaxer, but thats harsh too. Also, I got a tourmaline starightening iron, it uses ions, its supposed to be better than ceramic, I dont know, but it makes my hair look awesome for those straight days and it feels good too. Either way, you are stuck with it, love it and see what happens. Dont fight with it anymore. Go natural, see how many comps you get. Belive me, I still hate my hair curly, ut people LOVE it! And they would PAY hundreds to get it!!
I guess we're the lucky ones?

good luck!

Try Sunsilk shampoo, and then just blow dry it straight. I was in the same situation as you, but once I tried that shampoo I didn't even need my flat iron anymore. I sometimes touch up a spot or too with the flat iron still, especially if I am going out somewhere fancy or something and want to look real good, but it's cut my time in half at least.

Get a porcelin straightening iron. One that dries and straightens at the same time.
conair has one for about 35 bucks
takes 60 seconds to heat up
and it travels well
Spray a mist of hair spray on top for a finished look

Have you ever tried salon products? There is a spray that I just bought. After your done in the shower, spray some on your hair, comb it, perhaps blowdry it too with a brush, it should work pretty good.

I have curly hair and have tried many things for many years and the best I find is to use a big round brush make sure you dry your hair off first.Don't use any product as its very drying on your hair, use a good conditioner

if you have a trade secrets shop nearby, they sell really nice ceramic hair straighteners. if not, you can go to a hairdresser and get one for a reasonable price. mine cost about $90 canadian, and has ceramic plates. i use it everyday and it doesn't fry my hair. i find that sectioning it into a few different pieces with large hair clips is the best way to straighten long hair, and since the straightener gets hot quite quickly, it only takes me about 10 minutes to get my curly hair straight.

Go to a beauty supply, and get a RELAXER. It's harsh, so don't leave it on too long. It's about $10.....works until the hair grows out.

Don't straighten. Accept what you have. Work with it. It's obviously something you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Let it grow long, and enjoy it :-))
