Well, for the first 25 years of my life, though I knew few Muslims and lots of Christians I knew more good Muslims than good Christians. At some point I wondered then if I should convert. More recently I've met some really good Christians, too.

But, then, with the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and all of the women forced to wear scarves popping up all over the world and with all of the media, I forget all of these good loving Muslims I have known.

And, yet, these good loving Muslims - often persecuted themselves by militant fundamentalists- are still out there!

I've known very few Muslims. When in college there was a Muslim fella from Iran living in the next dorm room. The college matched him up for roommate with a Jewish fella from NYC. I don't know if the college was tryin a social experiment or what.
If it was an experiment in hopes they get along, it was a miserable failure. The fella from NY treated his roommate like garbage. The Iranian was hurt by this and did not understand it. He was well liked on our floor. He was outgoing, honest and really interested in our culture. The fella from NY ended up having to be removed from the dorm. He was a bigot and became hated. He was not a good example of the Jewish faith. He was a spoiled punk that needed his butt kicked.

To answer your question, people are people and most do make an effort to get along. If you were visiting Tehran under better political circumstances, how would you behave? What would interest you?

People get the wrong impression of them. People automatically think they stand for war when the name (islam) actually stands for peace. Nobody seems to recognise anymore that they are actually trying to help people lead a happy life and the religion is very liberal. It actually teaches against forcing people to practice religion or forcing someone to do anything. They only seem to go to war (well the normal ones) if someone else starts the war. People should read up on what they believe in before they judge them. They will come to realise that they are good people who will tolerate anyone and teaches forgiveness.
Read up on it...
EDIT: btw, someone above said they are not familiar with the bible, but I've been taught that they HAVE TO read the bible AND the Torah because that's where the religion comes from MOSTLY.

Do you live in the middle of nowhere? Some hick town? There are muslims everywhere and besides their beliefs they are just like everyone else. I met a Muslim who was white and dressed just like me. Now to get to my answer. I think Muslims have the potential to do horrible things as well as have the potential to be amazing people and do more things for this world then most could even imagine. Anyone can be good or bad.

I have a Palestinian friend who was born in Nazareth. He is a nice man for an Arab. No offense- They are a lot like Jews, very arrogant and proud. He is educated (2 doctorates). He teaches all over the world. He exposes the Koran and Islam. Islamic clerics hate him. They have tried to kill him , but have failed.

My, what a broad question. I have met a few Muslims, and they have all been very nice people. But that doesn't mean they all are. That's like asking, "What do you think about the French?" I think that some French people are rude jerks, but there are also many nice ones. Let's not generalize.

They're pitifully misguided if they look to the Quran for a revelation of God's truth. The Bible commands Christians to let others live (not to murder); the Quran only says Muslims "are not forbidden" to let others live. That's a h*ll of a difference.

I am a Muslim convert. I've lived and interacted with the true-born Muslims.

They very good people. They are misunderstood because of their ways and customs, but they are very good people.

Only HAMAS, Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda give Islam a bad name because those extremists are more politically rather than spiritually inclined.

Peace.
