Try different connection cables. Try connecting a different player to your TV. Does it play audio CDs? If no, it may be an expensive repair. If yes, then their is a fault in the DVD circuit only. Is the player worth more than 100 bucks? If so you should get an estimate for service. If not, don't waste your money on an estimate charge. Just buy a new player that may be more advanced for the same price you paid for this one.

if u have done macro hack or region hack , problem like urs would be common.try to search the web to correct the hack.most likely this method seldom correct the player.player r very cheap now-a-day.u can get a region free player for under 50 bucks.good luck.
if all the above mentioned facts r irrelevant, then the disc that u put in must b the region that the player can't play.

from searching on your behalf it seems this has occured to other owners, seems repair or replacement is the solution.

one solution is taking apart the dvd player and fiddling then worked but I would not recommend this unless you are a technical person.

Trouble,is that getting it repaired may cost more than item,so get a exact price for repair first.

Have you altered the region coding or anything on the player? that may be the cause of your problem, try googling for a region code hack and setting it to the region of your disc (region 2 for UK)

unplug it and leave it 4 a while then plug it in again, this may make a difference. Also check that it has the recommended amount of space around it and it's not overheating.
