Case dismissed... Nolle Pros or Acquitted? You may have to submit an application to Seal/Expunge your records. There are a list of Violations that will not be sealed, those unsealables are folonious crimes involving assault with deadly weapons, crimes involving a firearm, and a bunch more. You need to request a court date in order to have that "record" either dismissed or otherwise removed, then apply to te Department of Law Enforcement for the State - The Court House can give you the forms and instructions.

Go to the Court Website look for Criminal and Civil Infractions type in your details...either Name, Case Number or whatever criteria you have.

Go to your county building and look for your info. All court records are public. Also, there are on-line services where you pay to have a background check done on you....its expensive though (its the same info you get from your county).

what do you really need a pistol for. The next time a female keys your car? Maybe you are better off without one.

It sounds to me that you already know why you are being denied. There may be a way to clean up your record, but I don't think you need a background check to find out what you already know.

Hire an attorney to petition that this be cleared from your record. A DV charge can stop you from getting alot of jobs today and of course from owning a gun ( if you own any now , they are illegal for you to own)

Intelius.com is a good resource. It'll cost you $49.95 but you get a comprehensive criminal/public records report on yourself.
