Just because we don't read the bible or attend church does not mean we do not have an understanding of Christian faiths, it just means that we chose to live our lives differently, but not necessarily much different to Christians, or in an "evil" way.

i love the way you asked that question....my opinion is that they see in black and white..and no gray area...in which people like you and i live...and they are judging us!!churches are only buildings and child molesters..rapists... lead and go to church..they use religion and "christian " to hide behind and create a false front.......hypocrisy!!...when i was young i couldn't have certain friends because they were catholic and i was lutheran...so we just sneaked around....so sad...

I'll answer your question with a question... why do you assume that Christians assume you're an atheist?

I'm a Christian but I don't automatically assume non-Christians are atheists.

But... from reading your question I don't believe you have a correct understanding of the Christian faith, because it's not about living your life "good" as opposed to "evil". It's about being saved by the grace of God and surrendering your will to Him.

Christianity in present day says that all other religions are going to hell. Meaning that if you aren't Christian, you're already lost. Atheist or Muslim, it's all the same. I'd just like to add that I'm not Christian.

Well, there's the concept of a "Christian God" floating around, see ... Christians need to attach their name even to Him.

And then they need to inform those of us who do believe in God (but are not Christian) that it don't really matter much, and what we do doesn't really matter much, since we are going to burn in hell for not accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

I've come to understand that anything that is not within their religion, anything that is not in the Bible, is - according to them - no good at all.

The only option for "living our lives differently" is to be non-Christian. And they are all too quick to remind us that it's our choice to do so - but that we will burn in hell for it.

Well do the christians believe that their religion is the only correct one? Yes but that doesn't make it so. I believe that if you want a religion than choose not to praise someone but to use what they constitute as the right way to do things from some or all religions and then to use that in your day to day life.

what is a non-christian, and who is pure enough to give anyone that label? a christian is a name someone gives themselves. a so-called christian is no better than anyone else, i think their minds narrow. they seem to have no tolerence for people who dont believe exactly as they do, and they are above everyone else. i do believe that god is much more understanding and forgiving than they are. time for a lot of people to look in the mirror.

Because Christians are so closed and immersed in their faith that they accept no other religion. So if you are not christian you must not be religious or rather an atheist.

I don't assume that. I only think a person is an atheist if they tell me they are one. Most people have a general feeling of a higher power..

Atheists get a bad rap in general.

Sorry you have to take the brunt of the argument - but to a Christian, we're all lost in the eyes of their 2,000 year-old writers, thus they get to annoy us all with their main objective to "win us all for Christ!"

According to our faith all who do not accept Christ are lost. They are not all atheists, though. Atheism is a specific set of beliefs.
