I mean, did ALL of God's creation get punished for the sins of humankind?

It doesn't seem fair that everything was perfect "in the beginning" and just because humans messed that up, then everything became imperfect. And if it's not imperfect, then why is there a need for change when perfection, by its defintion, does not need to be changed or improved?

Robert: I really don't think that one of the Pauline Epistle's addresses this question. But thanks.

zenhighway, you ask some of the best questions.

I do have a suggestion of how this make sense from a biblical perspective.

In Genesis 1:28 God gives Man charge of all creatures. It seems to make sense that this was God's plan for his perfect world. So what happens to any group when the leader screws up, everything falls apart.

So the idea is God's plan was for man to make sure all creatures were OK so it wouldn't be necessary for the to adapt but because man sinned he became self absorbed and neglected this job, so God took care of it through natural selection.

It's also possible natural selection was part of GOD's perfect plan because there can be perfection in variety, the perfect sunset wouldn't be the same one over and over it would be new beautiful sunset that is slightly different every time. Perhaps this is the same for animals, they are more perfect because they do change over time.

I personally think it's probably a combination of these two concepts.

How perfect is a animal that can adapt to changes in climate and surroundings to survive. I would have to say that is the perfect animal because if it couldn't change and adapt it would become extinct. I might be wrong here but all the animals who are extinct the cause came from the hand of humanity. except for the dinosaurs who went extinct from a major catastrophe such as a large asteroid that hit the earth and almost wiped out everything. You may not believe in God and that is your prerogative and right. Me personally i do believe in God. I just have trouble believing in everything that was written in the Bible as it was written by the hand of man. Over time i believe that the Bible has been changed and will continue to change. Because back in the old days who had control of the Bible? Lets see crazy kings and crazy popes who could have said i don't agree with that part of the Bible and i want it taken out. Who would have argued with them knowing that by not obeying that command meant certain death. In the end it all comes down to faith either you believe that something greater than you made this world or you believe it was one big accident. Peace.

... Why isnt that perfect? Do you think a finite unchanging world would be perfect? life changes on a human level daily. At least for me.

Animals adapt and evoirnments change to our influence and we know right away our impact.

And not to mention the mind we are given can view things flawed or perfect in the state in whitch they exsist to us our choice our will not gods.

So.. Is it the freedom you would be afriad is the perfection? Or are these notions and ideas to what you think are perfect compotent to prove your point?

or even my notions or opinions?

The perfection doesent end at the one size of a unit the microscopic and macrscopic has a continually ever complex evolution of systems that oddly represent each other from the smallest particle to a solar or galactic string of systems.

Pick your level of complexity.. for some reason it continues and it grows more complex in every moment and observation without fail.. otherwise it dies. or is dead.

Perfection or perfect isnt dead. Unless of course that is your idea of perfection and if so.. you will ..eventually reach it.

This is a fact: Nothing in life is perfect. That is a constant you can always count on. God created it perfect but for reasons I don't understand it got screwed. Don't start with the bible stuff explaining it because the book has been translated over and over and has been interpreted differently I'm sure. Perfection will come when we go to heaven and then we can ask God our self about all these questions.

Where did you get the idea that God's creations are supposed to be perfect. Way back in the Garden of Eden maybe, but then sin happened (because God let Adam choose, as He lets all of us)

God finished creation and said, "It is good." He didn't say, "It is perfect." God said, "It is finished." on the Cross.

God gave all of creation to Adam. When Adam willingly disobeyed God to save his wife, he effectively gave the title to Satan. Satan has been using pain, suffering, destruction, and sin to try to overthrow God ever since.

Once the goodness of Earth was destroyed by the Flood, the environment was greatly changed for the worse. Where once food and near perfect weather had abounded, now food was scarce and weather extremes began to emerge. Competetion for survival meant animals had to begin feeding on each other (along with ticks, mosquitoes, etc). Cosmic radiation began to mutate genes, along with earthly pollution and inappropriate dietary conditions. Of course, God had forseen all this and made it possible for His creatures to adapt. His wisdom is hard for us to conceive sometimes, but remember that if it didn't have to be this way, it wouldn't be this way.

What is this "fair" thing I see mentioned all the time?

Yes, all of creation came under the curse. We did as humans, animals did, the earth did.

I'm puzzled as to how people actually sit in judgment on God!

The world was created and is always in a constant state of change. That is just the nature of things to always change. Nothing is permanent, not us, not the earth, not even space itself. God(dess) created all things to be able to adapt to this constant flux and change. In that way, everything was created perfectly.

Yeah, it's all Adam's fault. Says so in the Bible. The whole earth groans because of his sin. God simply places greater value on us than He does on animals. Heck, He KILLED the first animals Himself, just to provide clothing for Adam and Eve. You may not think it's fair, but thankfully, you are not God.
