I don't think it is ever too late to train a dog. Try watching "The Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic channel. He works miracles.

Dogs are never too young or too old to learn things - and neither are we!
At four months, she's eligible for puppy class. She should have completed her series of puppy vaccinations, and the socialization in class with other pups and their owners will be very good for her.
You'll also learn a lot about puppy behavior and the reason they do what they do, as well as caring for her.
It will be fun for both of you, and will give her confidence while building the bond between you!

Best wishes and have fun!

No, it is not too late. I took one of my dogs to training close to 1 year. The key is to be consistent with training and discipline.

If you go to petsmart they have a prepuppy class, that is probably, what your puppy will go to they just teach your puppy socialization skills and how to play, at 6 months old though is when they start the sit, down, basic obedience, then after that you can go to more modifide classes. Have fun

absolutely not!

the dog is very impressionable still. it has experienced humans before, but might not feel like it has been a member of any particular pack. dogs are pack animals, they are very aware of the family situation and their role.

and don't tell me you can't teach an old dog new tricks because Belle (my princess shepherd mutt) has just learned how to go up and down stairs on command and she's 9 years old.
