Is transubstitution too big a word for you to understand? At least they don't eat Mary with the wine. At least their communion is REAL, and not water down grape juice symbolic going through the motions like most protestants. And Atheist, no bloody Mary jokes, your minds are too reprobate to understand spiritual things any way, praise Jesus.

When someone takes Communion, it's really a spiritual time between that person and the Lord. Communion is 100% symbolic. Whether it be watered down grape juice or wine, one thing is for certain and that is that it's NOT blood. And whether it be a peice bread, cracker or wafer, it isn't human flesh. It's a symbolic gesture of respect and reverence for Christ.

Do you really need to be so rude as to imply that Catholics have a more "authentic" ritual than Protestants? Do you actually think Jesus sees it that way?

Oh, and one more thing, you mention Protestants "going through the motions" FYI.....most Protestant churches do not have Communion every service. Indeed, we feel that it is so important and special that it should not be done on a routine basis, or as something rote, where little thought and effort is dedicated to it. Our church serves Communion once a month. It is a solemn time of prayer and reflection, and is more meaningful than any other time of the month. In other words, we aren't "going through the motions" like many people I know who do it every day.

Don't forget that Catholics are Christians so the way you present your question doesn't reflect that fact. I am a Catholic Christian and I can tell you that straight from scripture, Jesus told us that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood if we are to abide in Him and He in us. This is just an opinion here but I think many non Catholic Christians simply cannot understand the Real Presence. Remember the Bible told us that even back in Jesus Day, many of His followers and disciples actually left Him because of this very issue but Jesus stood firm. He didn't say "Hey come back, I was just kidding, or "I was only speaking figuratively". He spoke literally and that is how we Catholics understand it. It is the real body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus after the host and wine are consecrated. Yes, Praise Jesus..Amen.

Huh?
Is "remembrance" such a tuff word, then?
You know, it never occurred to me before, but that whole bread-into-flesh and wine-into-blood thing...did the 12 disciples actually eat flesh and blood at the last supper? Or did that only begin AFTER Jesus was crucified? Does His flesh regrow each time? How exactly, does that work?
OH, and...yuck...does the taste of the bread and wine change?
No disrespect intended, you do it your way, I'll do it mine...and let us each keep His remembrance in our own way.
Peace

do not undesirable-mouth the Pope or the Virgin Mary, and don't mean--as this question already does--that she isn't Christian, too. you comprehend, nevertheless a number of their observations have diverged slightly from the Nicene Creed over the centuries, the Roman Catholics nevertheless do have faith in all those issues, meaning they are nevertheless Christian. Oh, i might additionally advise against making jokes approximately her faith, or criticizing the worship of saints as idolatry. do not repeat John Cleese's humorous tale approximately spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch, and on no account humorous tale on the subject of the clergymen donning clothing. No nun jokes, the two. previous that, ordinary previous stable manners might desire to stand you in stable stead.
