Sometimes when you pee at night, you drip down the side of the toilet. It is important to always make sure you don't have urine stain when guests come over. Try spraying something under the toilet where the seal is and get a night light in your bathroom.

Is your cat in the habit of using ur toilet or litter box? I would say call the plumber. If your cat had a problem it would not just use your commode.
