I like this one guy, but im good friends with one of his really good friends (the guy i like and i aren't really friends-we've talked a few times (and he seemed interested to talk to me) but hes a year older than me and we've never really had a chance to get to know each other really well) The thing is, i think my friend likes me. and i dont like him and I dont want anything farther than being friends happen because i dont want our friendship to be ruined and us be wierd around eachother. Im just worried that IF the guy i like likes me then will he tell himself to forget it cause his friend likes me? and I'm so shy around guys so the idea of taking a step and try to get to know him better scares me because Ive never had a real relationship with anyone and im scared of rejection. what should i do? should I suck it up and ask him to the next dance? but then even if wants to what if he says no because of my friend?

It's difficult because if your guy friend likes you, the guy you like can't really act on any feelings he might have for you (if the two guys are CLOSE friends). But you'll never know what could have been if you don;t try - so I say ask the guy you like to the next dance. The worst he can say is no.

Look - I may be off for not reading all of your question, but all I can say is NEVER, EVER should you start or encourage any kind of love triangle between two good friends, male or female. They'll both end up disliking you for it.
I would not date my best friend's girl for any reason whatsoever. ! It is NOT done!

if you don't try you'll never know!But first leave the first step to the guy you like,if you feel that he wants to make it but is shy go for it and make things easier for both!(p.c.the guy you like should talk about you with his friend!)
