the girl who likes u telling u that she likes u, or one of her friends telling u that she likes u? take into consideration that u may not like the girl

It is actually easier to hear that from a friend, so that he may choose to act or not depending on his feelings, and he does not have to worry about hurting the girl's feelings.

ok at the moment u are told the girl likes u, it will be less awkward if a friend asks, because it wouldnt be as awkward between u and the friend, but it might be really awkward to approach the girl, even more awkward than it would be if the girl just asked u. i think i would rather a girl approach me saying she likes me than a girl approaching me saying her friend likes me
i also dont think it is too desperate for a girl to be direct, if i were u, just ask the guy directly

if the guy might like me and i know this why would i even spend my time on worrying who tells who. just go up to him and tell him.it could work which ever way it might.some guys have no problem having girls tell them they like them and some guys are scare to even admit they like a girl because their friend might not think you're cute and he does, but won't take the she in front of his friends.i know to much drama and confusing.boyz will be boyz.just do whatever your heart tells you.

I would say hearing from a friend of yours is better; makes you seem less desperate and sounds like an accidental 'slip' of information rather than you being too into the guy

well if those are the options i think i would prefer one of her friends, just in case i didn't like her. In an ideal situation I would like one of my own friends to tell me that she likes me. I know I can trust my own friends and I don't have to worry about the validity of what her friends say.

That's the one draw back about telling someone you like them, they may not like you the same way.
In that case, a friend, passing it on, saves both the sender and receiver, from being embarrassed by baring their feelings.

If I do like her, then I want her telling me, If I don't i'd rather her friends tell me: that way we spare each other any awkward embaressment - I've been in both situations and the undesirable situations.

I wouldnt trust the friend's word, so i think that direct word is always better. If i dont like her, i suppose ill say, Im sorry but i dont feel the same way.

i prefer 4 the girl who likes me 2 tell me herself. i think that if she asks her friend 2 do it 4 her it shows that she's reallii nervous. if she likes me a lot then she should ask me herself.
