Consider this, if hell exists, then God would be worse than the devil because, God controls all things and thus, by rank, no matter how you slice it, the devil is subject to God. So, God is the entity which allows people to be tortured for an eternity...and what could be worse?

If God wanted to spare one person eternal torture by hellfires, couldnt he just grab someone out of the devils clutches at any moment? Of course, if not, then he is merely a pagan form limited to some sphere and not the "one God".

If you say "we cannot know is ways", again this is a cop-out, a refusual to use your mind.

God can chose not to torture...right? I mean, he could just remove the human from existance...thats another option...is it not?

Hell is ridiculous. Absurd. A blunt tool for religious wackos to bash sheep over the head with. A marketing gimmick to sell books with. Something for wild eyed Imams to weild over the heads of their followers and make them duck into a bom-belt.

All excellent points. However, I must correct one thing you said - the concept of Hell is NOT found outside of mythology or works of fiction.....and works of fiction include the Bible, Quran, Torah and the multitude of other religious books. And Religion on a whole is mythology.

God would never choose to torture us. This is the main reason I don't believe in hell. If our Creator chose to remove a soul from existance, this would be a worse fate than "eternal hellfires." I say this because I believe in reincarnation, and to have spent countless incarnations learning, then one misdeed and poof! No more Melissa? The very idea is insane. We choose to go where we are, whether it's on this side of the veil or the other. And for my soul to be obliterated, I would have to be part of this decision. Those who die believing they deserve eternal damnation would put themselves in it. Seeing as how I don't believe in hell, or satan for that matter, I really should not be answering you, but maybe I am onto something here. "A blunt tool." This is exactly what hell is used as, and satan the eternal scapegoat. How many times have you heard, 'the devil made me do it.'? People don't know how to own their misdeeds. If they would look inside instead of to their feet, maybe they would reason out a way to make the misdeed a way to redeem themselves. Oh, but it's all just a penance away, we'll go to Confession and you'll get your three Hail Marys and you'll be fine.... another ridiculous idea.
Blessed Be.

Ya trippin. The reason hell is in ALL ancient spiritual documents is because it's no myth. As sure as the center of the Earth is hot, sin weighs down the soul, there is a hell.
There is a place where the worst of humanity is grouped together. Eternity is all about being with those just like you. You can run, hide or talk all the dumb madness you want to but you will in fact die one day and you will in fact be with those like yourself. Stop talking and start reading. Learn how to navigate eternity rather than attempt to comfort yourself with the words of denial and frustration that you're babbling. That God you're insulting has given you the chance to be, written the words to guide you to the best eternity and even died to pay for your mistakes. If you ever reach an advanced knowledge of spirit, you'll know that hell isn't forever for most beings. Once experiencing existence without Love, most will turn to the light.

We choose our eternities. God is perfect and never to be blamed. Find your way. Study and seek the truth. Tao, Bible, Book of Mormon, Apocryphal writings, Pseudepigraphal Works, Lost Books of the Bible, Writing of Bahaula, Quran, READ and READ, seek the points that cross reference across the religious boundaries and you will see the truth.

because the eternal torture chamber from god is a myth used to give people the impression that the rulers at the time are powerfull, and can punish you in the next life also. Its used to control people, mental slavery.
I think Plato mentioned the 'eternal Lake of fire' some 500 years before christ. the jews didnt even have the doctorine.
I just wonder what religion started this ball rolling.
If Hell exist........ then God wouldnt be worse than the Satan, this God must be Satan.

You do make a valid point and it's a mere philosophical question. The Jewish faith does not believe in hell but the Christian faith (which branched off from the Jewish faith does). I won't tell you that are minds lack the capacity of understanding God's ways because obviously that doesn't cut it.
The description of Hell in the book of Revelation speaks of Lakes of Sulfur and Fire, and ultimate chaos on Earth. For some they are living a hell on Earth.
We are told that God gave people a choice, he will not suffer those who do not know of him, he will not suffer those who are not able to make a conscience choose (children, handicapped). He will only suffer the ones who hear his name, hear his word and choose to deny him, to murder. But then again the whole book of Revelation was based on a dream or a 'vision'.
The truth is we believe in Heaven and Hell because it makes sense. No One knows if they actually exist but some NEED to believe that it does. I know that there is not going to be a real answer to your question. You believe what you need to believe. Believe in what helps you sleep at night and wake up the next day. Believe in something better than the world we live in.
Believing in a Heaven means there is an equal and opposite place. Beliefs are just ideas we have placed in stone.

"God can chose not to torture...right? I mean, he could just remove the human from existance...thats another option...is it not?"

Yep - and these are two of the three ways that Hell is most often defined within just the Christian faith alone. The third is the permanent, eternal separation from God - no hellfire, because that permanent separation is said to be hell enough.

Consider this possibility. God is all powerful.

However he chose to create us as beings with free will, yes he knew we would sin but he also knew how to save many of us, he couldn't save us all because he gave us free will, if he had created us without free will we wouldn't be created "in his image" so the point would be lost.

So he made the choice that he'd rather have many of us with him for eternity then for none of us to have ever existed.

As far hell it's simple eternal separation from GOD. We were made to be in his presence so if we are completely separated from him it will be eternal suffering. It's not like GOD intentionally mad hell a bad place it's just the direct result of our nature and his nature.

This point was previously addressed. I would suggest reading replies and addressing them or moving to a different subject.

Your argument here is basically that since Hell is bad it can't exist as the creation of a good God. The answer to that is that the universe does not exist for itself but as a means of demonstrating Divine glory. Hence, some humans are made to show this as objects of cmpassion, others as objects of justice. God's 'good' to creatures is relative to His aims, not to ours.

You have no understanding of the Righteousness of God!! It really does
not matter what I think or you think. What God says is the bottom line.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. I am not being smart just telling the
truth. What God says applies to me as well as the lost.SIN will be
PUNISHED by two ways.
(1) You can place your faith in what God says and let Jesus the
ONLY BEGOTTEN SON pay the price of BLOOD to pay your
SIN DEBT FOR YOU.(becoming a member of Gods Family)

(2)Reject Gods Plan Of Salvation and PAY YOUR SIN DEBT YOURSELF!!

PROOF
Psa 9:16 The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psa 55:15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. Psa 55:16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

Psa 116:3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Pro 7:27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Isa 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
You can believe the devils lie as for me I place everything in Gods Plan Of Salvation, Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
You can believe a lie or Believe what God says.
In Christ in Love,

Priests in early religions discovered that humans respond better to fear than they do the offer of rewards.

More people follow religion due to their fear of punishment than they do the offer of rewards.

Without Satan & hell, Christianity wouldn't exist.
