about the illegals? I mean, i am half mexican, but my family came here legally many years ago! So, in my heart, i am just an american! These greedy illegals make me feel ASHAMED of my latino heritage! I was embarassed, on the day of the marches. I was ashamed to even have mexican blood! What about the rest of you?

My husband is of Mexican descent and he takes alot of grief for being anit-illegal. Most of my friends are hispanic and share similar beliefs, but are too afraid to be vocal because of what others might do or say. Don't be embarassed of your heritage, just educate others and speak out.

U should never b ashamed of who u are. The fact that people have the freedom to xpress or stand up for themselves (who ever it might b) is a beautiful thing. The latino community have every right to b upset. They r fighting to live in state's that was once already there's. Now u say that ur family came legally? Is that b cuz they came when California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona & New Mexico was there home previously? I don't understand what u mean by "greedy illegals", but ur entitled to ur opinion (get it?) I hate to inform u that there are bad apples in every race, but it all depends on who the public or media want to target. The U.S. is the melting pot. We have every race here, hey atleast these individuals want to work unlike many races (not just latinos) that are taking advatage of the system. Let's see who they will target next. It's certainly not the other border jumpers (the Canadians). Keep ur head up. Don't b ashamed of what u r, cause that blood that runs in ur veins will never run dry.

I am an American of Mexican descent. I know exactly what you mean. But all races have trash and let me tell you that not only Mexicans were at those marches, Salvadoreans, Guatemalans, Peruvians, Brazilians you name it. Do not be ashamed of your heritage it is magnificent. I am gratefull for my father that came here to the United States and put himself through school, learned the trade of a plumber, got himself in the Union, learned to speak beautiful English and always carried his dictionary. Not all of us are discusting.

no....being a Latino means just that....whether you are from Mexico, Brazil, puerto rico, wherever....being a Latino means that your heritage is a diversified one...and to be ashamed of your heritage is wrong...does being an American mean that you should only be white??? NO it doesn't....and the process of demonstration is the only process that works in this country...look at the famous BOSTON TEA PARTY....if that wasn't a demonstration...what is....look at your brothers...they are just like you...some are not as fortunate to be able to access this society legally....as you did...the only way to make a difference is to look at them with an open mind....what if you were poor and your family was hungry....what would you do???I am glad however that the same rights that you have the privilege of having may not be denied to some of them.

There are many latinos who agree with your point of view.
I just want to say that you do not need to feel ashamed.
Most of us non-latinos do not generalize and put you all in the same category. This is about illegal vs. legal. So we don't have a problem with you.
Hold your head up high....Fellow American.

Hmm. i've got been conversing a lot approximately this these days. the way I see it fairly is this: in case you will have to circulate into someones united states, it fairly is right to no longer in basic terms be a criminal citizen, yet take a little time to benefit the language fluently. If i pick to circulate away the states and desperate to circulate to England, i'm no longer able to circulate illegally. i choose my papers. There are no longer any exceptions as this is the regulation. Now, if the perfect language in England have been some thing different than English, i'd make a large attempt to benefit, as i'd decide to slot in and have a extra effective probability and getting jobs. i'm somewhat disenchanted that in the time of our united states, we are making ameliorations for persons who refuse to benefit the English language. I variety of envy Japan as a results of fact they have not got this situation. Their united states is amazingly tight with those issues. we would desire to consistently take a word from them.

My family also came legally many years ago, but we don't forget our roots. All those people that were involved in the marches are Latinos too, so stop being so self -centered. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You're a fine example of a REAL American, I admire your courage in confronting those of your heritage that are not supporting this country. If your family could do it right so can the rest. Walk tall my friend!
