It also says this, in Galatians 1:8 "but if we, or even an angel from heaven, should preach unto you another gospel than what has already been preached to you, let them be accursed".

Interesting that Joseph Smith claimed an "angel" revealed to him this "other gospel".

The version of the bible known as 'The New Testament' has been revised, translated, re-translated, re-revised, and re-written SO MANY TIMES in the last 1600 years (the first versions started appearing about 400 AD) that talking about not 'adding to or subtracting anything from the bible' is ludicrous. If the Mormons think they have a version that they like, more power to 'em. It's all interpretation anyway.

In order for the Mormons to explain some of their doctrines about Indians and other races they had to invent a plausible story! According to the Mormons the Indians in America came over from Israel 600 years before Christ!

The Bible is complete the way it is and does not need another companion! Everything that man needs to know about Jesus can be found in the Bible!

After a year or two in that Cult the average Moron reads the Book or Moroni much more often than the Bible. That was told to me by a Mormon Missionary.

""omething about adding to or subtracting anything from the bible is"" == has nothing to do with yet another book.

THEY NEED PRAYER!

Yes, the Bible clearly declares that.

But the answer to your question has less to do with simple Bibliology and more to do with fundamenal Christology.

In other words, Mormons do not believe that Jesus Christ is God, and therefore they cannot ascribe to the clear Biblical teaching that declares that.

The bottom line is that, like many other non-Christian religions, the Mormons cannot be at all described or categorized as a Christian religion.

In that sense, the fact that they use the Bible alongside other texts (that they want to give the same weight of authority) is incidental to the larger theological heresy.

Because Mormons are strange icky little people. Go to www.wikipedia.com and take a read about Joseph Smith Jr. A strange little man also. Let's play a word game, you say John Smith, I say Charles Manson. You say Mormons I say Davidians(Waco TX) See my point? There are a lot of freak jobs out there, it is just scarey when low lifes believe the bs. Read the wikipedia site and I challenge anyone to say I am wrong.

The God I serve doesn't make mistakes--He said everything He wanted to say in the Holy Bible!
The Mormons must serve a different god than The God of The Bible.

because they can better control their minions by offering "new" scripture that confirms the extrabiblical doctrines of the lds church. They also believe the Book of Mormon to be the "most correct book" on the planet, while often not trusting the Bible as it is not "translated correctly".

That's only valid if the person reading the bible believes that to be true.

Each religion interprets parts of the bible differently....hence you get different religions.

Why did Protestants rewrite the bible?

Why did the Catholic church invent the bible in the first place?

Why would "God" need a book to promote his message?
