I've never really had a boyfriend and I'm 17 years old. I'm a good kid and I don't like to do drugs or drink alcohol excessively. I'm getting to the point where I think I'm starting to become desperate and I don't want that. Yes, I want a boyfriend but at the same time I'm scared. Are you confused yet? Because I know I am and I don't know how to stop thinking about boys so much. I keep getting told to wait until college and to stop looking so much. It's not as easy as it sounds. I have anxiety so I tend to think about things more than I should be. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd also like to know if there are any attractive guys out there that actually like good girls like myself.

First of all I think your name should have been lilsweet17. In todays world you are a very special young lady since you don't do drugs and drink a lot of alcohol. My suggestion to you is to be patient. You are just a incredible young lady that wants more out of life and I truly believe that you will get exactly what you want when the time and day is right. Being 17 is terrific. Enjoy your younger years doing anything except for concerning yourself about a b/f. Take care of the things that are important to you right now...like your education etc. Then one day and nobody knows when Mr. Right will be asking you out. You'll say yes ....and then you will be on your way. Take care and good luck.

Focus, focus, focus. Take control of these natural God given traits and find some activity to preoccupy your mind. If you don't you probably won't be a good girl very long.

If you really want to meet good looking nice guys get involved in something that will give you exposure but keep you busy and productive too (guys really go for girls who have goals).
For instance, you could join in on projects around your community, which will accquaint you with a lot of different people, who know a lot of other people. Things can really blossom from there.

I remember those days.. and your right it is hard to have people tell you not to think about something, You will think about that more. I think its perfectly normal at your age to start having alot of thoughts about guys,, Hey you'll be 18 soon and I would imagine a adult by law where you live.. Try going to some all girl events.. Or maybe start a journal and write about the kind of guy that you would like to spend the rest of your life with and be detailed.. That will help you narrow down the men and boys you think about... good luck

Have you tried being involved in different activities? I know when I was in high school I was involved in sports, 4-H, drama club, band, and was active in my youth group where we took mission trips and met other kids our age. I would recomend starting with guy friends and you'd be surprised how many new guys you meet just through your friends or possibly one of your guy friends might become more than just friends. And by the way, it's totally normal to have guys on your mind 24/7. You're a teenager, and that's part of the trial of growing up. If you become more comfortable around guys first and just hang out as friends, then perhaps you won't be as anxious when it comes to actually dating because you will already be comfortable around guys your own age.

I understand you completely!!! Im 16 and i felt the same way, untill recently I started going out with a boy and he is very nice, and i didn't even expect to find a boyfriend. So what Im trying to say is not to keep looking around desperatly and just wait because you might find a relationship when you least expect one. And if you go out with someone just because you are desperate its not fair to the person you are going out with. So wait for the right person! And im glad someone else out there is a good girl!!!!!

I'm an average Joe. I never did drugs or drank too much in high school. I'm 24 now and I still don't. Girls like you are very attractive to guys like me who aren't interested in carrying a passed out girl to her door. Good clean fun means a lot more in a serious relationship.

I get it you feel like your missing out on simething. Maybe if you drank a little more alchohol, you would be unihibited enough to get that special fellow to fornicate with. At 17 to proudly state that you don't do drugs or drink to excessis ridiculous. It is like saying I beat my dog,but not to death. It is illegal for you to take any drugs,or alchohol. Forgive me if I don't pat you on the back for doing what your supposed to. Don't be in such a hurry to lose your virginity,(I am not talking about that little thing with You know who) Real love takes real commitment. Relax, sex is mostly overated. Not that its not fun.

Find a hobby that doesn't involve a boy.
