well, when I was in the 8th grade all the wildass country girls were fully developed women. they got married at 14 had a few kids and got divorced before they were 18.
The main issue here is that the girl understands what she is doing. I would say to the 26 year old to give her a couple more years and see if the girl still feels the same way about him.
if she sticks to her guns and still wants him then I say go for it.
it is often the case(not always) that girls 16 may be a fully developed woman on the outside but is still a little girl on the inside and is probably just in love with the idea of being in love.
she may not be emotionally ready to handle a man 10 years older than her.

I think it is wrong as well. A 16 year old should not be dating a 26 year old and also to have sex with him. She needs to just pay attention to school right now. Having sex so young is going to mess up the rest of her life. Cause I mean what if she got pregnant at that age? I suggest for her to find someone her age and to do something called absenence.

First of all a 26 year old is NOT, repeat NOT a boy. That is a grown man -- a grown man who has no business messing with a 16 year girl. That is called statutory rape -- even if you consent -- it's still rape in the eyes of the law. If he gets caught, he goes to jail. Period. Find someone closer to your own age.

Age is not a big deal. But 16 is just too young to make a decision like this. She is not thinking right. Atleast tell her wait till 18 or 19, before she goes to sleep with him.
Being her friend, i guess its ur job to knock some sense in her head.

Frighteningly enough, in some states 16 is the age of consent, so its pretty much legal. You'd have to check the codes.

Right or wrong . . . depends entirely on the couple. For some people it works, for some people it doesn't and it depends on what their long term intentions are.

She might just be going for the older guy to get a notch in her belt.

Very very wrong. The 26 year old have mental problems. And someone should tell the 16 year olds parents.

oh my god no its not alright. there is a word for that paedophilia. it is so wrong. there is something mentally wrong with this guy. he just wants to have sex with someone young and that is sick. im sure what you could tell her to change her mind as it seems her mind is already made up and she probably thinks its cool that an older guy wants her. maybe ask a counsellor or do some sort of intervention thing. im sorry i cant give you any other advice but its good to see that you at least know that this is sick. good luck.

I think that she's too young to be thinking about stuff like that, but as far as the age gap goes (provided she waits a while until she's older) it's not that bad. My sister is 10 years apart from her husband, I'm 14 years apart from my fiance, my dad and step-mom are 13 years, and my grandparents were 11 years. It's not uncommon for that kind of age gap. BUT she is too young right now.

She has way too much life ahead of her to waste time on someone who is vastly beyond her in "life stages". He's probably done with school, has a regular job, and sees other people anyway. He won't be able to spend much time with her and their lives are so drastically different that it will not last long because they have nothing in common.
As for the sex part, tell her he has probably already slept with a lot of people because of his age and she is very susceptible to diseases and pregnancy even if she practices "safer" sex.
