Amen to that!

a proud atheist..

and humans dont' come form monkeys - they share a common ancestor. thanks to the person below for provinf the point of believers making up stuff (or misrepresenting/not bothering to understand in this case)

atheists need not tell lies aot xians. xians do a fine job of making themselves look foolish enough. ;)

nice comparison to the universe, too. remove the anthropomorphism from the attributes of god and you have the universe - creator of all, always been there, etc.

You do realize that you just made a hasty generalization and, by definition, a hasty generalization is flawed logic?

1) You certainly seem to be upset that "God believers" are "lie"ing about "Atheists," which could legitimately be labeled as being bitter.
2) You certainly have no logical values, else wise you're argument would be vastly improved.
3) You don't know right from wrong spelling and grammar.
4) Hitler stated that he desired to replace religion with the "party," thus not Christian.
5) You certainly don't seem to be particularly joyful.
6) Your question certainly has the appearance that it was brought about by some unpleasant experience with a "God believer" that happened to you.
7) The statement "There are no atheists in a fox-hole" resulted from the personal experiences of soldiers in WWI, so you tell me.
8) The manner in which you present your question is rather foolish, since it doesn't accomplish much.
9) You do seem to be rather confused about what your last sentence in general. Are you claiming that "God believers" do the universe? How might the universe be done? Is the universe an action or subject that one can undertake, and if so in what manner?
10) Descartes said (essentially) that "I think, therefore I am." Since your question hasn’t shown much in the way of thinking, and since from the nature of your question it might be assumed that you are an atheist, it could be argued that you don't exist.

Thus, as we can see, it is quite reasonable that "God believers" might over-generalize when there are vocal atheists, such as yourself, who do fit those ten points of which you contest.

Its unfortuate that some do say those things. You can be very nice well spoken people and i have friends that are athiests.

but as far as number 9 goes.. you are confused in one aspect in that is the Bibles teachings. Ive seen the athiest websites that pick and chose 1 liners from the bible Taken out of context to change its meaning. I see this 1000's of times. and then used in this very forum to distort what the bible actually teaches. So when people say you are confused this is true to what i just stated.

But christians have been called much worse just today an athiest called all christians Bigots, another said we are stupid for believeing in fairy tales, and yet another said that we are war mongering.

i think this is a fairer model to use for all people.

1. Some people are bitter
2. Some have no values.
3. Some people dont know right from wrong
4. Some are confused
5. Some people are fools
6. Some people are bigots

etc etc etc

.. notice i didnt mention religious beliefs or the lack of religios belief

We assume that you are bitter because many atheists throw a temper tamptrum and start calling people names like "stupid" and "hypocrite" if someone says something that you happen to disagree with.

Does that sound like a "happy" person? Especally if they are doing it in person and you can hear them screaming at you?

Was Adolph Hilter a Christian? You decide:
----------------------------------------------------------------

"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together.... The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity.... Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." Adolph Hilter (Night of 11th-12th July, 1941)

"Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure." Adolph Hilter (10th October, 1941)

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains: one could imagine nothing more senseless, nor any more indecent way of turning the idea of the Godhead into a mockery.... .... When all is said, we have no reason to wish that the Italians and Spaniards should free themselves from the drug of Christianity. Let's be the only people who are immunised against the disease." Adolph Hilter (13th December, 1941, midnight)

"The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death.... When understanding of the universe has become widespread... Christian doctrine will be convicted of absurdity.... Christianity has reached the peak of absurdity.... And that's why someday its structure will collapse.... ...the only way to get rid of Christianity is to allow it to die little by little.... Christianity the liar.... We'll see to it that the Churches cannot spread abroad teachings in conflict with the interests of the State." Adolph Hilter (14th October, 1941, midday)

To lie means to measure something as untrue against a value structure. This means that there is a moral action, and a moral arbitrator.

As an Atheist you should be tolerant to those whose Truth does not agree with your value structure of truth. Lies are irrelevant to the true Atheists because they don't exist. Thus your questions insinuate that you are an agnostic?

Or do you really want to function within the Christian moral code?

The only one of those I've ever heard is #8, and that goes for the majority of the planet.
Saying Hitler was a Christian, well that is at the very least questionable. Are you forgetting what he did? Anyone who would do what he did is not a Christian.
Well, you must exist, after all, you are here Christian bashing. AGAIN!!!!
I think everybody is confused at some point in their lives.
No one is happy all the time.
And as you can see, NO, I did not do this in order. "Tis my day to be confused. Or confusing. Or both.

4. Hitler was an Atheist.(He was really a Christian)
Have you ever read Mein Kampf? His whole set of values are right in there, none of which are Christian. He wrote that from jail, and claimed to be following evolutionary Darwinian principles of eugenics, which were created by Darwin's cousin by the way. All easily verifiable. But I don't expect you to look, because I've learned that atheists confronted with truth tend to run screaming.

Are you atheist because you are mad at god for not existing (like the fab author Terry Pratchett)???
I'm agnostic and proud of it! I choose to try to live my life by Buddhist principals and if I fail (which I invariably do!) I am safe in the knowledge that nobody can judge me on how I choose to utilize the lessons I learn in life and how I apply them to day to day living. I live with a moral code formulated by my experience and observations.
I'm hearing and feeling the truth of what you are saying! All the best people in this world have brains enough to think for themselves.
For those of you who question wether Hitler was a Christian because of what he did, How many sick and twisted pedophiles are preaching to the masses from the pulpit every Sunday???

I don't. I'm sorry you feel that way. But I do not agree with your statements. 1. the Bible is telling the truth (sorry if it offends; also the Bible does not mention Aithiests specifically....)Anywhoooo.... 2. Hitler was not a Christian becuase he hated Jews and Christians and no true Christian in their right mind would ever EVER murder innocent people.

Besides, I try not to offend people if i can help it, but sometimes our belief systems don't agree so I have to stand up for what I believe in.
