I think bestfriends is something you feel that you have shared your feelings with and whole life with. A best friend is like a cousin, sister, mom, dad, brother ext.

it is something that you feel. I made the mistake of making a promise to my freind to be best freinds and I regret it because she is not very nice and i like so many other people better.

depends on how old you are...!!! As adults, people dont find it necessary to call others their best friends..but as kids....its crucial for their existence!!
