Around last year I started having flukes of not being able to remember some things, now it has gotten to the point where I dont remember what I did 10 mins ago. For instance I lost my car keys yesterday and haven't been able to find them still! haha I know this sounds rediculous but it is true. I mean I'd go to the doc but I dont have any insurance and dont feel like paying an arm and a leg for a visit. I found some interesting facts online about Aspertame that I realized I have been consuming for years in Trident/Dentine ice gum. Any relivance?

lol yes I know its common to lose your car keys but being able not to remember what you did the previous day and stuff gets old haha. I don't smoke pot or use any type of drugs, so thats not my problem. I started chewing that gum when it game out what 5 years ago? But have recently stopped when I learned about aspertame.

Aspertame in gum is something that will only affect you in extremely large doses over a large period of time...i hate to say this but memory loss is extremely common, starting in your 20's. stress, heat, lack of sleep..food or dehydration, or trauma, certain medications, perkiest, drugs such as weed, and others can all cause the same symptoms. evaluate your life style, and consult other family members to see if they have the same problem..also it couldn't hurt eventually to go see a doc. but unless your showing other symptoms there probably just going to tell you to go home and get more rest.

You think you have problems now,, Just wait 5 years... LOL.. Its normal to lose keys, especially if there in your hand when your looking all over for them.. Sounds like you need a break from the caffiene.. Slow down in life, and relax. If you worry about the forgetfullness, then it will make the problem worse. Just let it go, slow down, and eat healthy, (the brain foods)... Things will improve and you will see its normal to forget things time to time. And unless you wacked your head sometime... I wouldent worry about it..

Memory impairment in young adults can be caused by:

Depression. Cognitive changes--impairment of memory, learning, attention, and concentration--can occur in people who are depressed. A young personwith a history of psychiatric illness, a rapid onset of cognitive symptoms, difficulties with sleep, or a rapid declind in the ability to perform everyday activities may be suffering from depression.

Disease and Medical Conditions. Many medical conditions can cause memoy problems, including, but not limited to, hormonal imbalances from thyroid disease or Cushing's disease (overproduction of steroid hormones by the adrenal gland); infectious diseases including AIDS and syphilis; tumors of the frontal or temporal lobe of the cerebral cortex; normal-pressure hydrocephalus (caused by excess fluid in the brain); and deficiencies of certain vitamins, especially B12.

Medications: Memory impairment is a side effect of some medications. Medications that may cause impairment of memory include allergy & cold meds, antibiotics, heart disease meds, high blood pressure meds & many others.

I am 39 and been having memory problems for the last year.. Get this, my doctor actually laughed when I was telling her my tales.. Anyway they sent me for a cat scan and nothing showed. The bouts seemed to have lessened and I sort of gained some control over them. All this with no doctors.. Good Lucck dude, I hope it is nothing serious. Do your self a favor and get yourself to a good teaching school with good doctors that care.

Aspertame can cause brain damage and cancer, so it's possible.

:D

Not to worry, lots of people have short-term memory loss.
Maybe it's all the aspertame...
It's in all the diet stuff, too.

Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. Learn here https://tr.im/RUKBH

Many people with hypothyroidism experience crippling fatigue and brain fog, which prompts reaching for non-nutritional forms of energy like sugar and caffeine. I’ve dubbed these rascals the terrible twosome, as they can burn out your thyroid (and destabilize blood sugar).

1. Just say no to the dietary bungee cord. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. Make grain-based carbohydrates lesser of a focus, eating non-starchy vegetables to your heart’s content.

2. Up the protein. Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; quinoa; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products (organic, grass-fed meats, eggs, and sustainably-farmed fish); and legumes.

Could be,but more likely it's just you're trying to multitask too much. Our brains are not set up for multi tasking, thus the problem. Try to do less, get more sleep, drink water, and write yourself notes alot like I do,lol
