Century has some cheap CETMES, but I'm thinkin of goin for a FAL, thoughts?

My personal favorite is the M1A from Sprignfield Arms. When I went through Marine Corps training, we were issued M14's and I fell in love with them. The M1A is the civilian version of that and I still think they are great.

They are heavy compared to the M16 but I prefer the .308 to the .223 for a combat round. It is also very versatile for hunting.

My vote is for the M1 (I assume you are talking about the Garand service rifle of WWII and Korea). It was a relatively simple weapon, and while heavy (13+pounds), it was highly accurate, and I have seen someone shoot it 800 yards open sights and hit the target.
