Any Soldier, Flier, or Sailor that wears the uniform is going to tell ya they had it the hardest in boot.
What's hardest? Wondering what the hell ya got yourself into the first week. Missing your bed, your Mom, and sex, in that order, the second week. By the third week, it's all about you being in shape and dedication. (read attitude). By the fourth week you have decided if you're in or out. After that, if you still want in, you work your *** off. If you want out, you start planing to fail, and how to live with that.
In the end my friend, it is all about you. No matter what branch of the service you choose, boot camp will be a pisser.
That's why the phase "wearing the uniform" means so much.
I wish you all the best.
Honor - Courage - Commitment

Marine boot camp is simply basic military training. It isn't comparable to a Special Operations unit's indoc process. Marines are trained to be a conventional force, not Special Operations. Regardless of what some new and highly pumped Marines may tell you, they aren't a huge force of Special Operators, they are a conventional force. Within the Marine Corps there is the MSOB (Marine Special Operations Battalion) ... that is where you find your Special Operations Marines, they are small in number. This is why you can't compare something as simple as basic military training to an indoc process for the Army Rangers or Navy SEALs, etc. It's comparing apples to pizza. As for what is the hardest thing to do, that depends on the person. For some, Air Force basic training will be the hardest thing they've ever done. Everyone has their own limits and own maximum output ... something that is incredibly easy for me may be the hardest thing you've ever done. We're all different as individuals. If Special Operations interests you, research the different units out there .. see what appeals to you. I will give you some advice; don't waste your time trying to prove people wrong. Do what you want to do and do it for the right reasons because at the end of the day, it's your life and the only thing that matters is if YOU are happy. It takes a much stronger person to ignore those that say negative things that it does for someone to bend to it. Good luck

I was in the Marine Corp, a friend of mine choose the Navy, and my brother was in the Army, after telling boot camp stories, the Navy was a piece of cake. My brother laughs at me that I was stupid enough to join the Corp with the toughest and longest boot camp. I tell you this, I wouldn't have traded it for either of the other two though.

I been thru Navy Basic, but that was a long time ago. I doubt if you're going to find a whole lot of people who have been to both, although I have seen some Marine Basic. IMHO, Navy is the easiest, but I cant know for sure. Either way, it's all about messing with your head; do what your told, and its not so bad.

The people I know who have been through navy and army basic say that army is harder, but that was before the sissy-fied army basic, so who knows now? Neither hold a candle to the marine corps recruit depot.
