My parents are devorced and I am living with my mom in a small town of 5000 in Maine. Where the only crime rate their is are drugs&alcohol which I can say no to as to the dc area where their are murders and everything else too. But the area has good schools compared to where i am nowwith a huge drop out rate. But I"m only a freshman in highschool so their would be time for my future later right but my parents think I should stay in the same highschool but I have moved some many times that I make freinds no matter wut and I can cope with my grades. So my future is in DC but where I really want to be is in Maine. So should I do what I want or should I do whats good for me in DC???

The Takoma Park section is surprisingly stable however the Shepherd Park section is greater effectual for a decision of the two. single family members properties would be a minimum of $500K even in the "downturned" industry. Bethesda is greater priced by using a lot. you will pay around $700K for a great residing house. by using all ability, stay far flung from having to return and forth on the Beltway or from Virginia. The "blending Bowl" section will tie you up for a protracted time each and each morning and night. Walter Reed scientific midsection would be moving sooner or later to Bethesda Naval scientific midsection yet that's off in destiny. touch some nationwide Realtors alongside with Century 21 or REMAX for listings in the Shepherd Park section. additionally get weekend copies of the Washington post for comparisons.

The city of DC has some terrible and very unsafe schools (one of the worst public school systems in the country). But just outside of DC, in Montgomery County Maryland, there's one of the best school systems in the country. There are much better areas in Montgomery County but the whole DC area is very expensive for housing. I don't like the people in DC either.

It's also too hot and humid.

I lived in the DC area for 50 years and it does have some nice and safe areas, and some jurisdictions have good schools. There are certainly many top notch colleges there and plenty of Gov't jobs. My question to you is where do you live now and is a move to the Dc area an improvement.

The D.C. public school system is a mess...I'd think about moving to Maryland (Montgomery County). This is going to be a huge culture shock for you!
Good luck!

no, DC is the murder capitol of the country. Has the most restrictions on your constitutional rights, and is just over all a nasty violent area.
