Your Girl friend is normal...it took me FOREVER to recover from my son's birth. I got sick all the time, I had panic attacks. When you have a child your immune system goes away pretty much completely goes away. My Doc told me to take lots of Vitamin C it helps build your immune system back up. If your gf is sick then your daughter DOES NOT need to drink her breast milk. It is bad milk and will make your daughter sick. Get some formula until your girlfriend gets better. Other than that if you think it's serious and you can afford to go to another doctor than do it if it will ease your mind. I've noticed you post the same question ALot you seem worried. Which comes with parent hood. Just so you know that worried feeling probably won't be going away anytime soon.

You are a very caring father and significant other-you are a rare gem and best wishes on your proposal. For your future wife, make sure she is getting enough nutrition for her to heal and that the doctors are looking at antibiotics-what is the cause of the fever-her body is fighting something off. She needs to be in a sterile environment and needs to be getting enough protein-are the doctors monitoring her diet? Things rich in iron might help if she has lost a lot of blood, like onions, liver, dark leafy green vegetables. For the baby, can she be put on an infant formula PLUS breast milk (depending on if your future wife is on any medications-these will go into the breast milk.) Fight for good health care! Are they eligible for Medical Assistance in your state? Call your local health department and ask for EPSDT (Early Periodic Screening Diagnostic and Treatment) -- they will be a great resource to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I'd definitely find out what is wrong with the mom. If she has a fever - she has an infection --- SHE needs to get to the doctor and possibly should not be breast feeding. Very good possibility. She could be making the baby sick. She should not be having problems for 5 months - not even if she had a C-section. THEY BOTH NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION RIGHT NOW. If you don't have money, get the mom to the ER or something. It's not good. Something is wrong.

If this is for real, no offense. Agree with the comments about going to a doctor and getting some baby formula. Not to be mean--If this has been going on for awhile, why hasn't a doctor not been consulted or contacting some social service agency to see what's up with your gf and the baby. Good luck and best wishes.

Wow man that's a tough one. For Your girlfriend the best thing you can do is to stay by her support her and help as much as you can with your child. You might need to look into some formulas to give your child to help your girlfriend and her potential problem with breast feeding. Don't just straight up give your daughter formula first mix it. Like 75% breast milk 25% formula and slowly ween her into it. And with your daughter just be there as much as you can hold her talk her and Play with her. As far as marriage its a noble idea but with all that's going on you should wait until your girlfriend is really on her feet. Concentrate on her and helping her get well, instead of plans for a wedding. You got time brother.

Wow, that is deep. I am so sorry that this is happening.

My advice?

Continue to be there for both your girls.
Ask their doctors what you can do to help
Learn about exactly what is making them sick (educate yourself)
Grow close to your girlfriend's family
Visit your girlfriend in the hospital everyday
Hold Samantha Nicole as often as you can
Seek religious fulfillment (pray) if that works for you
Try to stay strong... both your girls need you.
