My friend spilled juice on her top and shouted "bloody hell!"
Why did she say this?

No. Bloody is an English swear word. She just combined two swear words because she was really upset, not because she thinks hell is bloody. It is fiery, I believe, if we consider all the legends etc.

I have been to hell. Vietnam 1970. We were flying sniffer missions (personnel detection using the dust in the air) below the first level of triple canopy jungle. I didn't see the first rounds that hit the slick (Huey helicopter), just heard something like a wasp going through the air near my face. As I turned I think I must have seen a tracer round, it was green, coming thru the floor.

The rest happened too quickly and too slowly. I was buckled in there in the back but could see the jungle coming up. Then the crash, again, I felt it but do not remember hearing anything. I must have heard something. But then something else, the blade of the helicopter came through the front and sliced off the copilot's head.

Hell is bloody. It smells like feces and it never ever gets any better.

I hope we get done killing people soon.

Peace.

No one knows for CERTAIN that hell even exists. "Bloody hell" is a common british expression for when they mess something up or get frustrated.

Hell is most likely a personal thing. If you are terrified of blood it will be bloody. If your terrified of big dogs, you will be chased by dogs.

"Bloody" is a British curse. It doesn't literally mean bloody, the same way that if one say "oh sh*t" they're not actually talking about excrement.
