It is an immense honor that God made humans (male and female) to look human, like He does. I think it shows God's faith in us that we have great potential, if we use it.

Not generally. Five thousand years ago, there was only one male homo sapien in God's image: Adam. Today also there is only one: George W. Bush. If you think saying this is an insult to God, you should have seen what a moron Adam was.

No because it is the soul that we are made in the image of God. Also in the New Testament Paul tells us that there is no male or female in heaven but we are all one in christ. Like a man and woman with a dollar, a store clerk doesnt care if its man or woman he just care about the dollar which is the same. God cares about the soul. Remember the bible says that God is a spirit and before Jesus was born he was like his father and didnt hve this sinful outer covering. God is a spirit and he gave us a spirit that lasts forever. Our bodies are just temporary dwelling places that will pass away and turn to dust but our souls will live on forever like God eternal in heaven or hell. If you live right and accept his son Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you can reign with him in all his wonderfully Glory and live in paradise. You also have to have to receive the Spirit of God with the evidence of speaking in tongues, healing, casting out demons, ALL the other gifts of the spirit and the fruits of the spirits.

No. Female humans are also made in God's image.

It isn't just the physical body that counts. The mental/emotional/spiritual images are factored in also.

Genesis1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness ..."

In this context "man" means "mankind"

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

"Man" is the species and consists of two sexes, male and female.

As Sir Winston Churchill once said,"In English law, man embraces woman."
So also in Genesis 1.

Actually I believe it is the male and female human, in a combined form. (Without sex organs, as there is no need for that with God.)
