I find it interesting that all Americans say the USA.

No, I shouldn't generalize. Some know better.

I think the answer might be an eastern country. I'm not sure about the United States anymore with the far right wing conservatives a few steps away from taking this country's religious freedom away. As a nation we're still tolerant, but sometimes I wonder how much longer that will last. China's official religion is atheism, and in India Bhuddists are taught to be tolerant of all religions.

the answer is obvious -- Canada, the true north, strong and free.

in canada we have several legislations put in place to prevent people from discriminating other people's religions. but no body ever does because canadians are so awesome. the canadian government views freedom of religion as one of our core rights which cannot be taken away regardless. our political leaders also would come to religious events and celebrate religious holidays with us too. now political freedom, did you know that canada has a national communist party, a marxist-leninist party, a sex party, a work-less party, a marijuana party, and the craziest of all parties -- the conservative party (right winged losers) our government also recognizes the right for people to express their own political opinion as long as it is not spreading hatred towards a certain group of people and allows criticism of the gov't.

now the US. i'm sorry don't they still believe that women are inferior still? don't they still believe that blacks and coloured are useless? how many times was martial law declared in the US? how many incidents were people protest surpressed by the government? there is no religious and political freedom due to the fact that everyone down there is virtually protestant. all the americans were brought up with a narrow-minded view and conditioned to criticize others. your government and citizens criticize leftists and call them insulting terms like "left-wing lunatics" US the nation that provides and protects religious and political freedoms? i dont think so. even the uk does a better job respecting others.

Honestly I'm not sure. I know the USA does to some extent and Canada does a very good job at protecting religious and political freedom also.

The US relies on diversity, to difuse special interest power. Most Democracies have done the opposite. Theocracies have little tolerance for dissent, as well as atheistic regimes. I have heard that there are large areas in Montana, and Western Canada, where people couldn't care less what you believed...

Probably the USA, but if you said just political, I'd have to bow out. The USA, with its two party system, is far less "fair" than the ranked ballots of more sophisticated democracies with less governmental hypocrisy.

Australia allows these freedoms, but also expect more accountability for your behaviors. In fact in that country all adult citizens are required by law to vote.
