I am very well educated and have read the bible. It is a story book. Yes the inspiration depends on the ignorance, the more ignorant you are the more you believe it.

I greatly admire Col. Robert Green Ingersoll, the author of the quote, but I'm not sure that I entirely agree. I'm a Humanist, but I find many passages of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures to be inspiring. Not divinely inspired, but inspiring. There are some gems of wisdom in and among the horrifying immorality and outrageous fables.

Why would finding inspiration in the Bible be considered ignorance? Does it upset you that you don't understand it and others do so you have to say it's because those who understand it are ignorant? Isn't that a contradiction? Only the ignorant have trouble understanding.

NOt inspired by the way it is taught in churches today. But fortunately I met a researching minister who uncovered some great inspiring truths about the complete work of the cross.

Now these teachings are inspiring!

I certanly am inspired by the Bible. Anyone who reads AND understands is always inspired by it. It is only fools who have no understanding that read and come away with nothing...or worse, try to bash what is in it.

The bible is a book.this book in my beleif carries inside it the witnesses and the fact of word and deeds and goals of mighty god .written by temptation from God and by the hands of the humans who were minite by minite walking with the christ .in every place and try hardly to make the people all over times and places know the reality and the supernatural skills and deeds and goal of allah.........not all but the most of them for the human beings as a strong glorious invitation to the absolute party of faith...So ME and other billions of men and women are inspired by the reality that the bible carried and kept as an honest source of faith to the greatest allah of infinite power and secrets.............Dr sherif lanson khalil of Egypt .

I sure am,
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Is that not inspiring..........

The Bible talks about fear, about overcoming problems, about what will happen to evil men, about how to face trials, temptations, and troubles (book of James)

Of course the Bible is inspiring.............
